Kansas City Chiefs

Anther Trade for the Chiefs

GM Muck Footballguy, the devastatingly handsome GM of the KC Chiefs, is pleased to announce a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.

Vikings get:

OT John Tait ($530K)
WR Marc Boerigter ($300K)
Chiefs 2nd Round pick (#47)

Chiefs get:

CB Aaron Glenn ($1 million)
DT Ted Washington ($1.65 million)

"Running on the Kansas City Chiefs just got a hell of a lot tougher", said Footballguy. "And throwing the ball just got a lot tougher too".

In Glenn, the Chiefs get a Top 5 CB that can take away one side of the field. Glenn has 23 INTs over the last 5 years, with 4 TDs. In 2002, he grabbed 5 INTs for 181 yards and 2 TDs and was named to the All-Pro team. Glenn is also an extremely dangerous return man.

Ted Washington is a beast inside who commands double-teams and bottles up the running game. Without him, the Chicago defense became a shell of what it was a year ago.

The Chiefs are now $1.633 million under the cap. Thank you, drive thru.

The Chiefs trade picks #28, $90, #128 to the 49ers for pick #24.

The Chiefs are pleased to announce the the selection of DE Jerome McDougal out of the University of Miami. McDougal was a member of one of the most vaunted front lines in the nation. The talented senior new Chiefs has a very good blend of 4.65 speed and power with helps him wreak havoc upon offenses.

To make room for the talented rookie, the Chiefs released DE Jabbar Threats ($450,000).

Kansas City is now $2.083 million under the cap.

Chiefs Finished Drafting

With it's 3rd Round pick, the Chiefs selected OLB/DE Antwan Peek from the University of Cincinnati. Peek is a 'tweener' who has good size and speed and excels at rushing the passer.

With Kansas City's roster looking tough, GM Muck Footballguy was leery of adding more draft picks at the expense of proven veterans. So he dealt KC's remaining three picks to Chicago in exchange for WR Dez White ($1.13 million).

White, 23, is a 4th-year player out of Georgia Tech who has improved with each year in the league. At 6'1" 216 lbs, White brings back size the Chiefs lost when Marc Boerigter was shipped to Minnesota. However, White also brings 4.4 speed and and experience that Boerigter did not possess.

Last season in Chicago, White caught 51 passes for 656 yards and 4 TDs despite playing in a run-oriented offense whose starting RB and QB was injured. He should enjoy playing in the wide-open Kansas City offense under Coach Dick Vermeil.

In order to accomodate Peek and White, the Chiefs released LB Tony Newsome ($300K) and S Lyle West ($450K).

Kansas City is now $5.748 million under the cap.
