Lets try and move on from the Bucs game and focus on KC next week.

I know we have been playing bad, but I honestly think we match up very well with KC. Here are some of the reasons:

1) They are very similar to Denver who we beat in week 1. They have a good running game but no real #1 reciever. Those big play recievers have been killing us, and I dont think KC has someone like that.
2) We are back home where we have been playing very well.
3) KC's defense is decent, but possible to score on. As much as we are all complaining about frerotte and our offense this week, dont forget the Bucs ave one of the best defenses in all of football.

Keys to winning:
1) Shut down their run. We have to stop priest holmes/larry johnson if we want a chance. No arm tackling and missed tackles like this week.
2) Get ahead early. This will allow us to run the ball more which we should be doing. I hope Linehan doesnt stay pass happy all season when our stronges t players are our running backs.
3) Keep the passes simple: I think we got away from some of the passing plays that have worked well for us. We should throw bombs downfield because frerotte cant complete them. We have to mix in more screen passes, short routes to our recievers....even the slants to welker seem to work very well.
4) (i know its obvious) Cut down the penalties. Someone reallyneeds to pull Hadnot aside and let him know he is kiling us with these bonehead false starts. We cant be starting first and 15 all the time.
5) Defense - We need to create more turnovers. We also need to get Reggie Howard off the field. I thought this guy was supposed to be benched, yet he is right there on every bog play the defense makes.

I know, i know, these keys arent all easy. But I stand by my statement that we matchup well against KC and I think we can pull off a win. Im not a homer either, I was expecting a loss to the Bucs.

I agree with your points, but I am VERY nervous about this game. The only positive is that it's being played in Dolphins Stadium.

with KC's O-Line, i think the fins need to put 8 men in the box on almost every down. but they also have to find a way to cover their TE.

and i believe they had some nice screen plays for big yardage sunday. this will be a very tough game for the fins.

stop the run, stop tony gonzales, pressure trent green which might be hard because KC has a really great O Line, and try not to throw long near our old buddy Pat Surtain.

I know you are not considering Joey Galloway a big play receiver...Our secondary juts plain sux....We need Poole and Mitchell A.S.A.P

This is a very winnable game. Much more so than the Tampa Bay game IMO. We have them in our house after a two game road trip. The boys should be fired up to get back home, Danny will be in the house, and I think some of the players are going to have a heart to heart with others this week. Zach said yesterday he's going to keeping his mouth shut like he has the first few weeks and start calling out players he thinks are killing them.. I too think we match up well with the Chiefs and if we can clean up a few issues.. This is a very winnable game.

i dont think it was so much galloway, as it was Griese. he played great. and i thaught for sure, once sims came in, the fins would run away with the win.

Yes good point. Although Galloway is better than any of the chief's wr's IMO. How many times are these teams going to score a td on an endzone slant route against daniels? It seems like the same play every week. Id almost feel more comfortable with the other team having third and goal from the 1 than 3rd and goal from the 7.

pretty simple to figure out actually, we're just flat out horrible on the road. We lost to a horrible Jets team on the road, to Buffalo who has a QB that got cut by the Browns at their healm, and then to Bucs who have a stellar D but mediocre offense that tore us up. As I already told my roomate, we'll beat KC at home but we'll lose again on the road. When we go on the road, it seems as if our team just cant adjust to playing in a different stadium.

Pat and Sammy's homecoming. Defintely looking forward to this game!

I agree with the only positive being Dolphins stadium. I dont think this is a very good match up like some of you. The Chiefs weakness on defense is the deep ball...(which we cant throw). Their front 7 or 8 guys are very fast which somewhat equalizes the short to moderate throws. And their two-headed rushing attack of Holmes and Johnson is bound to wear out our front 7. Thats not even taking into account our weakness on D is our pass defense, Green is very good at making his pathetic recievers look average or good! I could see this game getting very ugly if we cant stretch the defense and keep them from shutting down our running game. Prediction of KC 34-14.

when asked, "why will miami win agenst KC?"

if the only thing the fins can say is, "we are playing at home."

it doesnt look good.

just stop the running game without giving up long passes to the recievers. but that is a HUGE "just".

Tony Gonzalez has murdered us in the past...but then again, he's murdered alot of teams. He is the legitimate #1 receiving threat. I think they'll pound Preist & LJ and hit us with the play-action to Gonzo. One positive is that Trent Green really hasn't looked like his usual self. Hopefully we can get some pressure on him and force some mistakes.

One thing is for sure, none of that matters if we cannot limit the penalties & turnovers. And I haven't seen anything that tells me we will. I hope I'm wrong and we play some smart football on Sunday.
