There will be one more mock after this one, but with under 2 weeks left . . . this is what I got.

1. Brandon Pettigrew - TE - Oklahoma State - Suprise pick? I have been a fan of the kid for a while now, and he is just the complete TE prospect . . . ideal for this power run game that we want to have. Fasano and Martin are entering the final years of their contract, and neither are as good as this kid, especially at blocking. Martin becomes more of a big WR for us this season . . . and next year, we go after our WR opposite of Teddy Ginn.

2a. Darius Butler - CB - UCONN - He is built to be a shut down CB, does everything solid . . . potentially the best man cover CB in the draft. He needs to be more physical against the run and needs to hit the weight room, but the Fins are flipping to find a guy they considered almost 20 spots earlier still available.

2b. Clint Sintim - OLB - Virginia - Boy Parcells just crapped himself to find Clint still on the board this late in round 2 . . . he knows the 3-4 elephant already being in Groh's system . . . and he gets to play behind JP and JT for 2 good years before him and Wake take over full time in 2011.

3. Kraig Urbik - OG - Wisconsin - Road Grading MONSTER at Guard, Perfect guy for what we are trying to do with this offense. He will win the RG positionand allow Donald Thomas to still develop as he is still very raw and coming off of injury.

4. Frantz Joseph - ILB - FAU - great all around ILB . . . can tackle, can cover and will fight with Ayodele for the starting job right away.

5. Tony Fiametta - FB - Syracuse - The Fins have made a statement in this draft . . . . POWER football, and they finalize that by getting a beast at FB . . . There will be no excuses for Ricky and Ronnie with the addition of Urbik, Grove, Pettigrew and Fiametta . . . and a healthy Smiley and Thomas.

6. Johnny Knox - WR - Abilene Chrisitian - I don't know much about him, but he is a speedster and probably will become the return guy from day 1 . . . we brought him in for a visit, and he could be somebody we look at come draft day.

7. Mark Parsons - CB - Ohio - Hell why not, we need another CB and Parsons can cover with the best of them. Solid value this late . . . if he is still around.

7. Best available OT prospect - I just have no idea this late, but we need a tackle prospect.

I will try again right before the draft, this was a quick put together. Thanks.

Next year the focus will be WR, NT and CB again.

I'd be happy with that draft, but I think the first 3 players will be gone at those picks by the time we are on the clock. I know a lot of people have us taking a FB, but I still dont see us using a FB in our offense other than 3rd and 1 situations.

Butler in the 1st and Sintim in the 2nd would be amazing.. getting them later on along with Pettigrew would be a dream come true.

Like the Knox and Joseph picks too (I have them as well)

Outside of the first pick (which I absolutely hate), I like the draft.

I know Martin is a FA next year, but I still dont see us taking a TE that high.

I keep seeing Pettigrew @ #25, I don't think it is such a stretch. Butler lasting to #44 might be a bit of a stretch, especially with the Pats picking #34. I think the FB pick is a bit of a waste, maybe a big wide body to play NT? I will say this that if the Fins draft turned out like your mock, Fin Nation would be ecstatic!!!

I've never understood why anyone would take a TE in the 1st round, all the hype about them and no greater return (Olson, Davis of late rings a bell) then TE's taken later. I think this would be a huge waste of a pick and I'd be real shocked if the FO went in this direction.

I'd rather not take a TE either, but it would be hard to pass up this one at 25, especially when our 2 TE's are FA's after this year. I normally don't like TE's in the 1st, but this guy can actually block too.

I originally was thinking a Vontae Davis and then Darius Butler scenario in round 2 . . . doesn't seem Parcellish as all . . . but wouldn't that be something to take Vontae and then at pick 44 see Butler still on the board . . . I don't think we could pass on him.

Hell Merling was projected by nobody on here last year, because he was a top 20 lock. He made it to 32 . . . anything is possible . . . Henne was the probable pick at 32 . . . he fell like 20 spots and we still grabbed him . . . this is the draft . . . teams have a BPA chart .. . but eventually they start reaching for need and leave solid talent on the board.

Hell we did it with Kendall Langford . . . we needed bookends for our DE rotation . . . and Kendall was who we wanted, and we MAYBE could have waited until round 4 . . . but we didn't want to chance it . . . we grabbed the guy we wanted.

Merling was the exact opposite .. . BPA on our board, versatile 3-4 player . . . couldn't pass him up.

I just keep falling into the whole . . . we want to improve the offense . . . and what way to do that than to get an excellent blocking TE that also has excellent hands. The guy is the most complete TE prospect since probably Kellen Winslow JR . . . top 10 pick in 2004 .. . who was more of a headcase and injury prone guy but is as talented as they come. He is better than Keller and Olsen, who were more of receiving threats . . . this guy can do that and block better than em all. He would be a good pick . . . I mean if we had Fasano locked up for the next 4 years . . . then nah I wouldn't do it, but we saw at times that Fasano struggled blocking . . . so we need to wrap him up long term or get a replacement . . . this is his replacement for the next 5 years until we have to resign him or find another guy. It makes sense.

Merling fell because of a injury...the Redskins wanted him bad...Parcells beat them to him. Our Luck...their loss.

same here...move Butler up and get Brace or Hood at 44 if still there and yes, good draft. I dont think Brace will last to 56 like alot of people say. Too many 3-4 teams in need.

Brace will be gone in round 1 . . . somebody will reach for probably the best fitting 3-4 NT in the draft.

Could be Denver and that 2nd first round pick . . . he could go that high.

your a round off with the first few people
just cuyz your a fan of someone doesnt mean miami will pick them...
