Kearse signs with panthers

It's goning to su$k when we lose Soliai and Langford next season then we"ll see what kind of depth we have on the DL

kearse showed enough this preseason that he should have been kept as a developmental nose...cause yeah if solai walks there's nothing in house that can play a 2 down run stuffer and gobble up double teams to give the lbs clean looks

kearse was very stout in his reps this preseason and made tackles at the los...i guess we don't value that kind of thing to develop

Don't know anything about Kearse. Our defensive line and linebackers seem to be doing the job. It's the secondary these days that worries me. Especially, when Benny Sapp gets burned long by Wes Welker. It's no wonder he got the boot 24 hours later.

Saw where they cut L J again. They can't seem to make up there mind about him. He's never been the same since his KC days.

you know who kearse kind of reminded me of...that i could see a similar type future with...casey hampton...the steelers nose...not a great wow athlete but stout and strong and could move around near the los...i saw similarities there...

Im not sure this is entirely true. I mean a player is never forced to sign a contract. I understand every player is trying to get on a 53 man roster but hypothetically speaking if a player loves the team he is on and is promised a position on the team next season with a contract, I doubt he would be forced to sign a contract with a team he doesnt want to be on. Even if a player is traded, the trade isnt official until the player agrees to the renegotiated contract. Trent Green for example (I forgot which team we were in competition with) blocked a trade with another team because he didnt like the contract situation. He then ended up signing with us.

the player doesn't have a choice...and the players looking to get on a 53...any way possible...kearse couldn't wait probably to get to carolina and get a chance with all the depth in front of him here right now

No there is no choice for the player actually. They have to sign with that team if they claim him off the PS.

Not true, Remember when we had Marcus Vick. A team wanted to sign him to their 53 and he decided he wanted to stick it out with us because Saban promised him a shot at QB.

There's just no reason for them to say no to a team that is going to promote them to a 53 man roster. It's a guarantee of 3 weeks of being on a 53 man roster where the pay differential is enormous.

Hi Men, I am new here, I followed Reggie Bush over from the Saints. A practice squad player does have a choice not to accept a contract from a different team. Last year the Rams tried to sign Adrian Arrington from New Orleans practice squad but he turned them down and elected to stay. He was promised a spot on this years team and made the final 53 as promised.
