Keep Albert? | FinHeaven - Miami Dolphins Forums

Keep Albert?

virtually his entire salary was guaranteed a few weeks ago, he is on the team this year

cut after season

keep him. move him to guard. keep him at lt move tunsil to lg, its a good problem to have as long as both men are professionals about it.

WE, can't do anything. but Miami plans to use Tunsil as a guard.

We have no choice BUT to keep him. Even if we DID have a choice, we HAVE to keep him. We need depth. That is something we lacked so desperately last year. Same goes for Dallas Thomas. Word is, he's been going hard at it to get stronger and faster. Even if he was working per usual, we have to keep him at this point. Again, we need depth. We can't improve EVERYTHING in one off season.

First, a quick news note: The Dolphins have called left tackle Branden Albert and informed him that he will remain at left tackle and that they project Laremy Tunsil as the left guard, according to a source with direct knowledge.

(So Armando, as usual, was on target in reporting last night that the Dolphins see Tunsil as a guard this season barring an injury to one of their starting tackles.)

Albert received a call from someone from the top of the organization so that he wouldn’t be concerned about the ramifications of last night’s pick.

The Dolphins feel very good about four starters: Albert and Tunsil on the left side, Mike Pouncey at center and Ja’Wuan James at right tackle.

They plan to let Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas, Jermon Bushrod and perhaps Jamil Douglas compete for right guard. They’re hopeful one of those will emerge as a quality starter, with Turner perhaps the best option of the four.

But they also haven't ruled out drafting another guard in the next two days if they see one they like.

Those eight players, combined with new backup left tackle Sam Young, project as the Dolphins’ nine offensive linemen, though none of the backups is assured of a roster spot if they're beaten out in camp.

Trade Albert to the NYG for the fourth rd pick. Seriously get some value instead of letting him walk next year

keep him or findc a team who is willing to give us a 3rd round pick for him, honestly he is injury prone if you ask me so if we cannot find any trade partners, lets just deal with him until after this season

If I remember correctly, Albert was drafted as a Guard by KC...obviously, with the purpose of becoming their LT, but G position is not new to him, which is not the case for Tunsil.

So , we just addressed a huge issue , which had been our pass protection . And now you want to go and send possibly our best o lineman for a 4th rounder and have a crap line again this year ?

What are you talking about ?

Keep Albert this year. Play him at LT and Tunsil at LG. Next year move Tunsil to LT and cut Albert I heard we'll save over 7 million in cap if we cut him next year.

I'd keep Urbick over Dallas Thomas. I don't want Thomas on this roster, period.
