Because changing from one offensive system to another, we are going to need that guy to help in the transformation and translation of a new vocabulary and such.

It makes sense. If Mularky is here a year from now I would be shocked. I see this as a one year deal to help bridge the gap from one offensive system to another

termonology doesnt matter in this case because we werent using mularky's terms. he adapted to linehans and tried to call everything in linehan's termonology.

Garrett probably knows our current system better then Mularkey. Garrett has two yrs experience in it to Mularkey's one.

There's word out that Garrett might be promoted and Mularkey demoted to TEs. If that happens I can see some issues coming up with Mularkey having to answer to a guy that was just recently under him.

What's great about having a HC with an offensive mind is that we'll have the same playbook as long as the team is successfull.

I would imagine Mularkey made a good case for himself during his talk with Cameron, and from what I have read, Mularkey is very adaptable to working with a diferent system (as he presumably did last year), so I hope that Cameron can get the best of Mularkey for the team, but that Cameron really is the one designing this offense and calling the plays.

... besides, he could help sweep the offices as well.
He would mess that up too!

I think keeping Mularkey makes the most sense to Mularkey. I'm not convinced his a "hot" property now.

If Cam is calling the plays why do we need him?
The OC gets three main tasks.
A) This role must assure that every single guy know the vocabulary and is ready to execute each play in the right form.
B) During off season the OC deals with the play book, evaluating variables in the game planning, and fitting it according to incoming and leaving players.
C) Get the best of every offensive player during the games.

This may or may not mean to make the play calling.

I can see this on opening day going on over the headsets.

Cam: Mike, what would you run here?

Mike: Well Cam, Ronnie has been running down the throats of the Jets, they just can't stop him, so I wouldn't run it anymore, I would run a double reverse flea flicker and have Brown throw it .

Cam: Good, that's not the play I'm going to run!

I wonder why Mularky is deciding to stay, I mean the Raiders are in need of a head coach, he can always interview there, they did take Turner from us.

I am ok with keeping Mularkey as long as he is not calling the plays. He can definitely help our younger players in learning the system, especially if we should draft a QB with the #9 pick. I just have a feeling Cam will open it up a little more and not rely on the gimmicky double reverses that Mularkey tried.
