Here is a link to an article on Keith Davis, the new fin and former ST captain from the Cowboys. A lot of folks are frustrated because we are not signing a bunch of high priced FA's. The article is short but to the point...Davis will be missed by Dallas. Not because of his speed or size but because of his attitude. Here is the link. http://www.dallasnews.com/s/dws/nwsltr/sports/ivr/stories/031208dnspoivr.2bf51ce.html

I edited the name 3 times to fix name to Keith and though it says Keith when I open it, the title still says Kevin..sorry.

Attitude is a huge word with BP. The attitude needs to change around here.

attitude is important, and will be a refreshing change around here.

I would rather have low priced ST demons that have dedication and passion for the game at our level of rebuilding right now than i would one or two high priced free agents that just got a huge payday.

thanks for the article

im not frustrated all that much that they didnt sign big name free agents i just frustrated we used half of our money on special teams players instead of addressing the other guard position or getting a safety that can start

we'll take a guard in the 3rd or 4th round...they always drop

Ozzy rules!!

I remember listening to Phins radio and Louis Oliver was a guest. He said that the main problem with the phins was they were getting guys with all the physical measurements and not really caring whether they had the passion for the game. He said that you may not have the best attributes for the game, but that determination and heart can take you a long way in this league. My favorite quote from Oliver was at a time later in his career when his body had slowed down due to the wear and tear of his profession. He said, after a reporter had asked him if he still had the speed to play the game, "I don't get paid to be fast, I get paid to break break skulls."

Good points by all. I also want OG's and OL in general. I read somewhere that the Tuna and his guys draft towards the strengths of the draft...so I assume that he'll get some OL and CB's. Interesting on Louis Oliver...I read an article a while back and Steve Tasker said that each year guys were drafted that had tons more talent than him, however, they were out partying all of the time while he was either preparing for football or getting sleep and rest; those more talented guys were gone and he was still playing. Not that talent doesnt matter, but you need guys that have the passion..the Zachs and Welkers etc...

Dolphan Germany's link on post 11 has a different more in depth article on the same subject..his is better...Davis looks to be awesome..

I willing to bet Keith Davis does more than just plays special teams. He could have just stayed with the Cowboys to just play special teams. He specifically said he's looking for a place he can play defense. Sean Payton tried to sign him as a RFA two years ago to be his starting strong safety, and reportedly had scheduled a visit with him after he got back from Miami. The fact that he didn't take anymore visits after Miami tells me Parcells and Ireland told him what he wanted to hear.

Interesting friendofbill... he was behind two outstanding safeties at dallas so maybe he would be solid...on youtube there are some highlights of his his and some where of him playing D and coming up and jacking some guys up..he can tackle
