Does anyone know the staus of Kelley Campbell? Heard anything? He looked great in camp last year and was looking like he would not only make the team but get some serious playing time, then his quad went on him again and we had to cut him. I would love to see him back in camp healthy this year. Sorry if this an old subject but I haven't been able to find anything on him.
 
we would probably be very hesitant to bring him back considering we just paid him a year's salary to be injured. this is very similar to the David Boston fiasco.

Yeah and Boston just signed with the Bucs, so Campbell still has a shot.:lol:
 
He has issues for sure. he had some character problems along with the injury. But nobody can say that when he is healthy that he just another backup wr. He is extremely dangerous and explosive. Just the kind of gut we need to be plugging in. How much did we pay him last year? No where near what we paid our three or Four OL guys who went down. ............happens.
 
We can do much better than Campbell. He did have his moments in camp last year, but he's not someone I would expect to see starting for us. He was TC fodder, and there to help the 2nd 3rd units work....

He had lightning speed last year in mini-camp, and he played a few years with Culpepper in Minnesota.

But I don't think Miami needs more Injury/Character prone guys on this team.

What sounds dumb to me is dismissing the idea of bringing back a deep threat who was blowing by people in training camp last year before he tweaked his quad. If healthy the guy could be a player for us.
 
Very unlikely that he comes back considering that Mueller will be trying to sign Stallworth because he drafted him back in New Orleans.
 
I dont think he is a particularly important at all, we have a great 3rd reciever in Welker and im a big fan of Hagan. The only way i see him contributing is in the return game. I think he would be a good 5th reciever, but thats about it.

i think it would be nice 2 c both of them on the team, but if i had 2 choose, id go wit stallworth
 
He defintely wasn't training camp fodder. That was the whole point of the thread. What I was hoping to find out was if was still working out/rehabbing and hoping to come back to the NFL or was he off on a Ricky type journey somewhere. Questioning this guys talent is just ignorant. It's not a matter of opinion it's a fact, he has everything but heighth, he is a gifted athlete; IF, he can stay healthy. The difference in his salary compared to Donte's would be like comparing night and day.

Wasn't he in camp for like a week or something? I don't think he even played in a preseason game.
