Rarely agree with the Omar angle but this one not half bad IMO.

Exclusivity drives American culture. It is ingrained in our societal DNA.
The hottest clubs are the ones with the longest lines.
Michael Jordan's brand is entering its third decade as the hottest basketball sneaker in the world because of how limited a release the majority of his sneakers are given. The thirst for re-issued Jordans explains why they regularly sell out in minutes, and reportedly generate more than $1 billion in annual sales.

Whether it is expensive cars, exclusive watches or purses, we want things that are difficult to come by, and that happens to be what the Miami Dolphins are offering.
This past week the Dolphins interviewed at least six candidates for one of 32 general manager positions in the NFL.

Wow, Omar actually wrote a decent article on the team, that's rare...unless i've been blind.

The same thoughts that some of us have been saying. Unfortunately there are those who run down the street with their hair on fire when a guy like Saguero, LaConfora or Florio only focus on the negative.

It seems to be our GM is not a GM but rather a 'president of football operations' it is my understanding a GM will control the hiring and firing of coaches as well as player acquisitions in close relationship with the HC.. of course some HCs such as BB have many GM powers.. it seems that Philbin being answerable directly to Ross and hiring his own coaches has some of the same autonomy.. so I think a GM is not what we are currently looking for.. unless Ross makes it clear things will change in that regard at a later date.. but who wants to take his word for it and any contract guarantee will leak and lame the coach who is already on a hot seat...No we are not hiring a GM we are after a president of football operations.. the GM title is incorrect for the role being filled.

Ding, ding, ding. I agree 100% with your comment!

I disagree with your analysis. Organizational structures differ. There is not a single definition for the role of a GM.

Correct, in the bottom part of the article he points out that some GM's do not have authority to hire or fire the coach or control team personnel. I believe the correct description is still a GM. He will be a GM that control's the 53 man roster and draft etc... there may be a financial disagreement from time to time between Aponte and the new GM but that appears to be how it was when Ireland was there. That might be the one thing that makes a candidate pause before accepting a position possibly. Maybe the tile should be “talent evaluator GM”.

Most GMs don't hire and fire coaches. Ted Thompson does. Not sure who else has that power.
