Kelvin Smith Cut

Another draft pick down the toilet. I know he was only a seventh rounder, but I hate wasting draft picks. Especially on a team that has zero to little depth.

Not every draft pick is gonna turn out great and make the team. I would like our drafted players to start playing like pro bowlers but we have to wait and see. Smith was drafted last year, we drafted 10 players last year. To have all 10 players be on the team the next year and have all of them be productive is unlikely. On top of that these players were drafted by Cameron and Mueller.

I realize that. But given this team's current state of affairs, I hope for success out of all our current and previous draft picks.

i didnt see the game but i guess he wasnt impressive as most say. Good chance he would have been one of the first cuts anyways? probably so since we have so many races for so many positions and the one he was going for doubtful he could have helped too much i suppose.

7th round draft picks generally are the hallmark of a franchise...I mean..I'm just saying. If 7th rounders are cut it's the end of the world isn't it?

That is fine, but of the 10 players we drafted, already Wright, Smith, Mormino and Booker are all gone. Beck is on his way out, Mauia is in a huge battle with Boomer Gribsby, Soliai is trying to stick aroud and Ted Ginn has reamined very very quite. Mueller & Cam messed up tremendously last year. They could have drafted Quinn & then drafted a WR with the other pick it probably would have kept them around so in away im glad they didn't.. Still we may only see Satele ,Mauia, Soliai and Ginn stick from last year 'sdraft. That is a toal of four player from the ten drafted. Meaning they wasted six picks.

I understand what you mean, but it would be nice for once to see one of those picks stick.

who cares he wasn't playing anyway

I know, having a new coaching staff and adminstration come in didn't help this draft class either. A few weeks ago i started to talk crap about Ginn not being worthy of a top 10 pick and people thought it was blasphemous, oh well. Booker may me a good player, but small quick RB's are not part of Parcells game. I think your right about Satele, Mauia, Soliai, Ginn are probably gonna be the only players that will stick around for several years. You did forget about Brandon Fields, I know he's a punter but he'll be around for a while to.

Completely forgot about Fields, he actually did real well at Saturdays game. The only way I see Beck staying is if they want to develope him as a backup.

Beck and McCown shared 5 snaps today.

Beck 1-1 1TD

McCown 1-3

I have a feeling Beck is gonna beat out McCown.

Alot are saying Beck will go, but I see McCown out of here. He stunk up Saturday and he continues to stink it at camp.

Smith was NOT cut. He is a member of the Miami Dolphins. He was waived/injured, and once he clears waived he'll be placed on injured reserve. Same thing happened to Tab Perry and Aaron Halterman, both of whom are still on the team. Smith might get an injury settlement at some point, but for now he's a member of the Dolphins.
