Reading around the net and came across an article or two, talking about how much interest parcells will show in flozell adams and ken hamlin.

6'2" 209lbs... 10th pick in round 2 of 2003 draft.

13 pics, and 362 total tackles in his short career.

but he has been playing for dirt cheap I think, he may demand more money and I don't know for sure what he would be worth.
Anybody know of a guy who's stats compare to his, I'm sure he's good character guy, or he wouldn't even be mentioned with parcells' reputation.

if we can find a guy with similar stat lines, maybe we can compare some contracts...

I love Y. Bell, but he doesn't do us any good if he's hurt, and I haven't heard yet if jason allen is still swapping positions or if we are going to leave in one spot.

thoughts???

I like bell. He is a hard hitter and loves to play smash mouth football. He was one of the few Safety's on the dolphins that actually tackled a running back head on. He didn't try to "horseshoe them around". He stopped them in their tracks. He only got to play one game this year and didn't even play the whole game so I think we wait and see him through.

MIA will not pursue ken hamlin. he plays FS and that is the position that jason allen plays. MIA needs a SS. we will probably re-sign yeremiah bell and draft a SS in round 2.

i would love to get ken hamlin here. dont get me wrong i like y.bell but hamlin is much better. He's a pretty big and could probably make the move to SS. he makes plays and doesnt have a long history of injuries. I would like to pick him up and maybe get a marcus trufant or a CB in the second round and set up or secondary for the next 4-6 years

Hamlin just played FS cause SS roy williams is really a linebacker... Though i worry about hamlin...he hasn't been the same since his head was cracked open...

thats true...he was alright last year, but i think he was a lil less fierce since that incident.

I think Hamlin will be resigned by 'boys. Jerry has already said that he wants to lock up Hamlin long term.

Hamlin wasnt brought in by Parcells, so you cant really assume that connection.

Judging by the fact that Jason Allen is still somewhat slow to diagnose plays at times, do we really want him playing centerfield? Why not move him to SS where he can use his size and speed to support the run and match up with a TE on many an occasion.

Now you may say what about Bell. Bell is an unknown, an achilles injury can take longer to heal than you think in terms of recuperation of explosion in and out of breaks. Given that Bell has struggled to stay healthy over the majority of his career, and the Tuna's penchant for oft injured players, Bell may not be back.

So Hamlin playing FS is not out of the question here. Whether or not he wants to come here is another question. Really a guy like Gibril Wilson is an option, or maybe Derrick Strait as a fill in with Bell being back as insurance. There are a multitude of options. There is some talent at S in the draft if you get it early - like the first 3 rounds. S guys like Qunetin Demps, or Thomas DeCoud would be nice options if we really want that over the top centerfield type FS. Jamar Adams might be nice if we want someone a little more physical in run support.

I hope he comes to miami i think he is a good Saftey that would be good here

True, but Bowles has worked with him. And, the real question is did Ireland have any say? I don't know if he was restricted to draft operations only within Dallas operational paradigm. But there is some familiarity within this organization of his skills, and character. This is also Parcell's family tree so these guys input will still be valuable.

Is ASU's Barrett in the draft? If so, what about him?

To be honest I've never seen him play. I wouldn't be fair for me to imitate other wise. His size is intriguing if these numbers are accurate.
Josh Barrett, SS, Arizona State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 231.
40 Time: 4.49.
Projected Round: 2-3.
A monstrous safety, Josh Barrett is one of the top defensive backs in the Pac 10. He started every game in 2006, notching three picks and 82 tackles

Also here he is listed as a SS. The guys I mentioned such as DeCous are smaller and in all likelihood rangier (is that a word) than this guy. That assumption is based on size alone. I'm assuming a smaller guywill be quicker in and out of breaks and swivelling his hips thus alloing him to cover more ground. Thats just MO, Barrett might be too big to play FS unless he's Laron Landry, which by all accounts he isn't.
