I may have missed it if it's been posted -- but did you guys watch Kevin Burnett in that game?

At first it really threw me off that he was wearing the #47 out there. I thought it was one of our safeties switching numbers, because he had the range of a safety.

Anyways, I don't think we are going to have the same trouble covering the TE that we had in years past. This guy was just all over the place, and I bet he is an absolute playmaker with the pieces we have on D.

Burnett is going to be great, but just watch Karlos Dansby this year. He is gonna make the Pro Bowl this year . . . and the biggest reason will be because of Burnett. Burnett allows Dansby to do so much on this defense . . . I expect KD to be everywhere.

Just like Dansby, Burnett played saftey in HS, so he has the range you are talking about. I think we have all seen that he can play the pass and cover TEs. I am more worried about our run D. I still dont know if Burnett can play the run as well as he can the pass. Im not saying he cant, I'm just saying the jury is still out.

I think that Burnett is going to do a great job against the run -- he is more of a drag-down tackler, and may not be *quite* as effective as Crowder was, but he should make up for it big time in his coverage, big play ability, and overall presence.

I think TEs are going to kill us again. They always seem to. Remember though, he is learning a new defense (I would think?) so give him some time. I still don't know why we didnt grab a TE in FA.

I heard an interview with Dansby and he said he was learning a new position. I think they'll use him more like Crowder to plug the run lanes.

This will allow Burnett to move around in coverage and blitz. Bet he has 2 or 3 interceptions this year and several sacks as well.

He has recorded two pick 6's against Manning I believe.

Channing Crowder was worthless on passing downs, and that's why TEs regularly torched us in past years.

Karlos Dansby, Kevin Burnett, and AJ Edds are all good coverage ILBs, so that weakness should be gone.

I agree the weakness of covering tight-end has completely evaporated in fact
the dolphins might be the best team in covering tight-ends now
eds dansby and burnet can cover the tight end or running backs if needed..

Dolphins greatest weakness on defense is teams passing on sapp and running at taylor
and sometimes they will win those battles we could use another safety to play at higher level
and this defense becomes beast.

I think the lack of a ball-hawking free safety is the biggest hole in our defense.

We will find out real soon.

Of the first 4 games we play 3 of the best passing offences in Pats , Texans & Chargers.

That's 3 pretty good QB's.

Can someone tell me if Burnett is going to change his number or is he going to keep 47.
