Kevin coyle on the da bears' coaching lists

Terryl Austin is going to be the hot name next year if he doesn't get offered a job this year. Another year with a top 10 defense and that dude will get snagged by someone. His years in the Ravens organization served him well.

He's on their list but doubt he even interviews.

Let us all put our heads together and pray that he does..I hate to say i to anyone but that guy totally ruined a good year for Miami and tannehil. How do you have a 4000yrds passer and a 1000yrds rusher and still not make the playoffs or have a winning season?

I will be in Chicago later will stop by Halas Hall and drop off glowing letter of recommendation

By scoring a single offensive TD in 7 of your 16 games and going 2-5 in those games. That is how.

Yards mean nothing without TD's at the end of the drives.

You know what...Detroit went 7 games with a single offensive TD and went 2-5 in those games and still made the playoffs.

You guys didn't know the Rooney rule also requires that you interview one complete idiot?

Coyle is not getting that job so we can wish all we want.

From the touchdown logs I come up with 2-4 in games with one offensive TD. I don't know where you are getting the seventh game.

I'm not sure what you are trying to prove by using an outlier in a statistical comparison. Detroit had a top 3 defense and were eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs. They scored 2 TD's in the 1st half of their playoff game but then failed to score a TD in the second half when the other team overtook them. Even the top rated Detroit defense failed when their offense failed to score. Sounds real familiar to me. Thanks for helping me prove my case.

So if you are happy being eliminated in the 1st round you can stick to your "the defense should win the game" theory. To advance you have to score TD's

Another reason Detroit made the playoffs despite these bad 6 offensive games was Mathew Stafford. He led all QB's with 5 game winning drives. Several came with no time left on the clock and didn't require the defense to hold to preserve win. By comparison Ryan and the Dolphins offense/defense was 2-4 in these situations.
