If the Dolphins miss out on Brady Quinn in the 1st round (I prefer we pass on him) and select someone else...What do you guys think about Kevin Kolb with one of our 2nd rounders or maybe a 3rd if we are fortunate.

Positives: Arm strength, especially on deep routes ... Size (6-3-plus, 218 pounds) ... Accuracy on short and intermediate passes ... Field vision ... Ability to avoid the rush and scramble ... Leadership skills and toughness.

Negatives: Limited exposure to pro-style, deep passing game in college ... Showed poor decision-making on throws through most of his college career, although he made significant strides as a senior.

Thoughts?

Hes is not a bad QB i wouldnt mind at all if Miami uses a 3rd or a 4th on him hes as good as every other qb cept Russell and maybe quinn.

well, hes good but id go with stanton or zambransky, I want the fin to address the oline, WR, and CB positions first

Sorry to be nit picking but it's

And i think we should take him to, living in idaho i've seen him play countless times. I love his leadership, pocket pressence, accuracy, speed.
He out performed every QB at the combine.

I Vote For Zabransky!

Cool. If we can't trade up for Quinn, and somehow miss out on Stanton, I think he'd be a solid choice for the Phinz. I've seen him play alittle, but he kind of got lost in all of the hype surrounding the other hopefuls. I like him though, and think he could be a solid choice....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Kolb would be a major mistake if we took him before the fourth round. He is nothing more than a product of the QB friendly system Houston runs. I think he'll have some problems trying to adjust to the NFL game.

After looking at the data for 3rd and 4th round QBs I'd rather not take a QB at all until the sixth or on the other side of the spectrum trade up for Quinn.

The bust rate is abominable in the middle rounds for QBs.

I think Kolb is better than Drew Stanton and I think we could get him in the third round or fourth. I don't want to waste a 2nd rounder on Stanton.

I agree, but have our guys even talked to him?

We may be able to get him in the sixth, the fourth for sure.

Then there is always next year and Colt Brennan and Brohm.

I don't like the part about him making poor decisions, that really doesn't translate well to the NFL especially when he hasn't had any exposure to a pro style offense. That is a huge recipe for disaster, he must be about two years behind the other QB's in that respect.

I'd go with Stanton or Trent Edwards.

I'd be pleased with Stanton, Edwards or Kolb.
I think Edwards is a wild card because he played on such a lousy team with no O-line so he's the hardest to evaluate. He may be the guy that turns into a good pro with the right coaching and supporting cast.
