Key position battles

Still reading the article, but im guessing you meant David Martin here:

" So who will be Pennington’s favorite target this year? Last year it switched almost every game. Anthony Fasano and Donald Lee proved to be more reliable as receiving targets than the Dolphins’ actual receivers. Bess ended up being the most reliable, while Ginn ended up being the most dangerous. Bess has his job as a third down receiver secure, but this year he will look to expand his role. Ginn must finally tap into his potential and prove that he is a threat. Camarillio will return from injury and hope to show that Dolphins made a good decision by giving him a long-term deal last season. However, the Dolphins obviously did not feel safe going into 2009 with just these three receivers as they brought in Hartline and Turner to compete for time. Expect to see Turner make an immediate impact and take someone’s passes away. "

Can you still change it?

and to ryan, the receiver battle should be an interesting one. i really dont think anyone is safe, but i personally love bess.

I admire Davone's work ethic, hands, and willingness to go across the middle. I draw the line at admiration and respect. No man crush here. :d-day:

Same, but I see Bess playin a big role for us in the slot. He can be one of the most dangerous slot recievers in the league IMO. (If Cam isnt ready) I can see Turner, Hartline, London, and yes, even Wilford competing hard for the opposite side of Ginn. I would like to see what Turner has to offer because of his size. He looks like a very good complement to Ginn. But who knows if he can translate well into the NFL.

Looks like a shotgun approach to WR, throw a lot of candidates out there, let them fight it out, keep who wins. Stash a prospect on PS. Maybe tuck Cam onto PUP. I'm cool with that.

Dude, this is politically correct America. You feel what you feel about Davone. I'm good with that. Just playin' wif' ya. I like the guy too, pulled for him to make the team last year. :D

I've given up on Wilford. London can be decent, and I have high hopes for Turner.

You're going to need extensive critical analysis of your work if you aspire to be a professional sports writer. If you're just messin around, it was ok.

I like the battles you've selected, but IMHO you've left out the most important one ... RG. Assuming Smiley starts at LG (rather than RG, because Smiley will definitely start somewhere), our other G position is still up for grabs. Thomas is not a lock by any means. I fully expect us to bring in some retread veterans to challenge for a starting spot there. The performance of our RG will go a long way towards determining how well our offense performs. At this point, we have no players that really stand out ... and that includes Donald Thomas, who remains very raw. And don't forget that each of our interior linemen have less than stellar records staying healthy ... so we're going to need more than just the 3 interior line starters as well.

Nice write up other than that. Interesting to read, thanks. :)
