I don't think the offense needs to do anything special, other than execute how they have been, stay balanced and finish drives.

I think however, the defense needs to employ a very specific strategy. With so many injuries on the Pats O-Line, our D-Line needs to win that matchup.

"But Brady Gets the Ball Out So Quick!"

Here in lies the key, our dbs need to bump at the line and/ or play off and jump all the short routes, if you see a pick play setup switch the pick, basically take out his first read and make him hold the ball long enough for the pass rush to get home...this could make for a very long night.

I'm sure the Pats will adjust and start going max protect, if they do that you've won. Just make sure to blitz the max protect looks, the key is making Brady uncomfortable, and we have the front four to do that.

I actually think the reverse. I think the key to the game is the offense. You know Brady will score no matter what you throw at him. They've hung 30 points on every well-regarded D they played already this season. You just have to score more and right now the Pats D is inferior to their O. If you can't score 30 points plus, you aren't beating the Pats in Foxboro.

We aren't going to be able to turn 8-yard slants into 60 yard TDs every possession - even against a Pats D that coughs up a lot of points. Brady has thrown one INT so far this season, so a third pick six for Jones looks unlikely this week.

So this O will have to play even better then the past 2 weeks to outscore NE. The D needs to keep us in it, but the O needs to win it.

I agree. My biggest concern is what we do to people. Throw a short pass and let the receiver work. Brady is the best at it. His short passes must be stopped. And crush him as well. OV will be on a back up tonight. He needs to make that into his favor.

The way to win is by keeping Brady off the field as much as possible. To do that we must run the ball extremely well tonight.

Is Cannon playing? I thought Volmer was moved to LT and they're starting a rookie RT?

I agree with you. If we hold them to high 20's even very low 30's the game in on the offense. One thing to note they're last 2 Thursday night games against 2 bad Geno Smith led Jets teams were fairly low scoring. Thursday's are hard for everyone.

1) Pass rush
2) Pass rush
3) Pass rush

The times Miami has beaten the patsies is when Gisele's husband is uncomfortable most of the game. If we keep him uncomfortable, we have a chance.

We have to score 30 pts and the defense line will need to be lights out. No way to we hold the patriots out of the mid 20's. They are just too good on offense. Their are points to be had against their defense.

Defense needs pressure from front four, minimize blitzes, minimize YAC
Offense needs to avoid turnovers, play balanced ball control to keep Brady off the field, and Tannehill will need to make a game changing play.
Special teams needs a monster night from Landry.

lol...I was thinking this the other day. If the Patriots are going to continue to get away with pick plays why not do what they do in basketball and switch? It would take some practice but it would be funny if it worked and led to turnovers for the Patriots. Would pretty much nullify their offense.

Hit Brady as often as possible

Protect RT

DON'T GIVE UP, stay in the game mentally if the Pats get up on the scoreboard.

I think the KEY on Offense will be the running game, even involving Tannehill with some well designated runs. Last year when we ran against them with Moreno, we destroyed them! That will help us control the clock and keep down the number of plays they make on Offense.
On defense it will be just playing very physical and hitting Brady and the receivers, especially Gronk with all they have. Make them fear the tackle. Their only strong target is Gronk and he knows he must avoid injuries, cause he has got several on his career.
I believe Reshard Jones and Koa Misi will have the responsibility of limiting Gronk, so we need an A+ game from them.

I think the Pats are going to try to start off with a screen pass or something quick to try to get our line to overpursue on play 1 and get burned. It'll be up to our LBs to play smart (which they've seemingly been doing the last couple weeks). I expect to see the same offensive gameplan against us that they used against the Steelers in week 1, where the opening drive consists of a lot of screens, WR screens and quick passes near the LOS to players lined up off the line so they start with immediate separation, and they'll open up their playbook from there once they think we're off balance. Playing smart without losing the aspect of playing fast/aggressive will be key.
