i think they need to trade WADE he has done nothing for the heat he just keeps bringing them down.

hahahaha

Dooling's a dynamic guy, but he needs to learn that he is not the first option to the basket as the PG.

Well its said he'll get a chance to start but I see him as a solid backup at the 1 and 2.

Who the heck would he back up?

He's a lot better than Jameer Nelson.

You think so? I guess he'll get a chance to beat him out.

hes too small to play the 2.

It's the complete opposite. All he has over Nelson is penetration & experience, maybe potential too...that's it. Nelson runs the floor way better and is like 10x the better passer. His shot selection is much better too.

I don't see many Heat games so any insight from the Heat fans here would be apreciated. I hear Dooling plays great D and is a shoot first pg. I also hear he's eratic at times and makes poor decisions. What do ye think?

He was a good fit for what the Heat wanted, a Pargo type player to guard the quick PG's. If he were a few inches taller he may have become a good SG, hes just doesnt have what it takes to be a PG. There is no way he beats out Nelson, he will end up just as he was in Miami, an energy guy coming off the bench.

Dooling is a good young player, a very good defender and is very quick to the basket.....

Now the drawbacks.....he holds the ball too long, he makes poor decisions and takes too many shots when Shaq and Wade were on the floor with him....

It's a good signing for the Magic.

If Dooling progresses, it's a nice signing. If he regresses, you're in trouble. If he stays where he is, he's a lifetime pace-changing backup. The thing I don't get is that Francis wants to play the point, Nelson is there, they just drafted Travis Diener (who is getting very high approval ratings), yet they signed another point man.

Well its been said over and over in the media that Francis will be moving to the 2 and Jameer Nelson will play the 1. So Dooling or Diener will have to beat out Nelson for the 1. Either way its a good signing imo even if its only for depth.

I just don't see him beating out Jameer. When Jameer started the last 17 or so ballgames he was averaging around 17 points and 8 assists a game. Jameer Nelson is the Magic's future point guard, but Dooling is a good signing for someone to come and provide a spark off the bench.
