1. This one is a staple. Eliminate the downfield passing plays. And this is bumped to #1 as this one is scary considering Schulters has slipped twice on regular field surfaces, and the Miami corners could find it difficult to hold their footing.

2. Make the running game the focal point of the offense. If it's heavily snowing and/or windy, we want to throw as few passes as possible, for as short yardage as possible. An inability to run could make this a long day.

3. Give Brady little to no time to throw. If he so much as a chance to breathe, he'll probably find an open receiver. I bet one or two licks on him and he'll come out of the game anyway.

The key is to get CONSISTENT pressure on Brady. It seems that for most of the year, our pressure/sacks comes in bunches. There are times when I'm thinking, CAN ANYONE GET TO THE QB??!? Then there is the times when we smother them for several consecutive plays. We have to be able to get in Brady's face often. But the key for us will be, in my opinion, out performing them on the ground. We have to stuff Dillon and force them to beat us with the pass. I know this sounds crazy given our secondary, but with the circumstances with the weather, it should slow their passing game, especially if we're able to keep pressure WITHOUT blitzing alot. With Ricky and Ronnie, we ought to be able to control the pace of the game, eat some clock up, keep Brady on the sideline, and wear New England's defense down. Of course, this will be New Englands same game plan. IT will be a question of who executes it best.

Good points. Especially about getting pressure without the blitzes, because Miami's blitzes have had mixed results this year, and when they're picked up, our secondary is way too green to be able to succeed in man to man coverage down after down.

I've noticed Miami the last few years seems to take almost 2 full quarters to start getting pressure on the QB...almost like they wear down the line and then start pummelling them late.

Like always the keys to the game are penalties and turnovers. Both of these were crucial in our first loss to NE.

Miami (lately) seems to have really cut back on the penalties. Turnovers as well, although this one has never really been solved this year.

The one type of penalty to really watch is the frustration foul. Miami tends to commit these on long sustained drives where they can't stop the pass.

Yeah, the blitzes have been frustrating this year because it seems as if we GIVE UP as many big plays as we make - maybe even more. You're right about the pressure we get later in the game. Hopefully it won't take us so long to get it going against New England. Nothing would be better than to pummel them to end the season. ;)

We could always blitz 10 people and just let Madison cover all 4 receivers.

That is pretty much how I feel - pressure the QB, contain the run, execute offensively AND keep the penalties way down. Turnovers is another key, I feel if we stay on the plus side, and they stay on the minus, we can capitalize on them.

The turnovers definetly have to be kept down to, hopefully, zero. And we can't have bone-headed penalties at crucial times (which we seem to commit alot). Obviously, we have to keep all mistakes at a minimum. We have to be careful with some of those OVER-agressive type of penalties because, with this being the last game and the fact that we probably want to try to make a statement, we'll come out fired up (hopefully). We need be play as clean a game as possible.

The Pats are trying to get their running game ready for the playoffs. Be prepared to see a lot of Dillon, with a little of Faulk and Pass. Pats will probably max protect Brady in obvious passing situations, so I'm not sure blitzing is the answer; the Fins are probably best served dropping seven back into coverage most of this game (while Brady's in).

The Pats have been stuffing the run, although it's doubtful Bruschi plays this game; and his backup, Beisel, is a big dropoff. If Samuel's out, that's where the Fins want to look in the passing game. The Pats front 7 have been lights out recently, so the Fins O-Line better bring their big boy pants, and the Fins better leave some additional blockers in, in obvious passing situations, or Gus'll be crying "no mas" by the 2nd quarter.

I'm actually really looking forward to this pretty-much-meaningless game.

Yeah, pressure will be VERY important. In most (if not all) the games we lost, we had barely any pressure.

Im telling you right now....if we start to lay some serious hits on Mrs. Brady...ole Billi is gonna yank him faster than you can say Peterpiperpickedapeckofpickeldpeppers!!!!!!!

I don't know if that would be a good thing or not considering how we've faired against backup QBs
