I really think that we are not taking full advantage of Ted Ginn, I really don't understand why he isn't back there returning the kicks and punts for us. He rarley returns the punts and I havn't seen him KR yet. We arn't utilizing him correctly, I thought that was the main reason why we drafted him at number 9. At least that what Cam Cameron said. I think of Ginn as an average WR that can break loose every now and then, but I think of him as a highly skilled returner, and obvisouly this coaching organization doesn't see that yet. I also don't understand why he hasn't gotten the chancce to return. Its not like he wasn't performing well as a KR and they decided to switch things up.

Not only that but I also think we arn't giving him the ball enough as a WR. I watched some of the games he was open plenty of times we just can't find a way to get him the ball. I feel as if the only people we are using correctly are Ronnie and Fasano. Maybe we will take advantage of Ginn in the Chargers game. They are 32nd in pass D.

Back to returning why out of all people have we chose Bess. If we guys havn't realized he is not getting any yards on his returns, and he isn't hitting the holes wuick enough. We have to get Ginn the ball more on STs and offense. He is a very talented player, we just have to use him effectivly and right.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!!! :woot:

In my opinion the reason they are not using Ginn to return kicks is because they value him too much to risk injury to him. We won in NE so right now I wont say they are wrong until we start losing again.

Ginn has proven he can take one to the house AND he did it with HORRIBLE HORRIBLE blocking on special teams but HEY we won and right now they are absoulty right.

Or you can ask me again monday

Thats true we won, but hey that still doesn't give you the right to bench a talented man like Ginn. Thats sorta like saying if the Pats win will they bench Moss, no. This isn't preseason everyone has the chance of getting injured, I don't think that risking injury is something we should worry about right now we have to go into every game with our best players in.

I am not saying you are wrong I am just saying I have my own personal moratorium on criticizing the front office until we lose again

That’s kind of why I said you might want to ask me again Monday

My guess is, that if Devone Bess doesn't produce some better numbers he will be replaced on return duties by Ginn. There was an article where Sparano eluded to that fact. And I don't see Devone housing any kicks any time soon.

The only thing that i hate about ginn not returning kicks is that we will always second guess those 3 point losses because we wouldnt know if ginn couldve took one to the house in the game. He is one of the best returners in the game

Ginn is "all or nothing" as a kick returner. He takes too long deciding where he wants to go; instead of just going. It also takes him awhile to get going. Once he is going, he is fast...but he rarely gets up to full speed before he is brought down. He is poor at making the first man miss.

Same applies to his punt returns. In addition, he has failed to catch a number of punts when noone was near him that cost us field position.

Also, Bess is 4th highest in the league right now for punt returns. He too let a punt drop that he shouldn't have, and you might see Ginn again this week just because of that. The coaches may be looking for anyone who wants to "take" the job.

You are absolutely right! Ted Ginn, Jr should be returning kickoffs. Wake up Sparano!!!

I think this is truly the biggest mistake of this regime. Ginn not returning kicks makes it look like we really overdrafted him.

Maybe Ginn should take over the returning of kickoffs and let Bees stay with the punts. Ginn is the #2 kickoff returner in the NFL behind Hester but we have to get him out there on the field doing it.

I think Ginn is a good kick returner but he has far from proven he is the second best returnman in the league. Josh Cribbs, Leon Washington and Andre Davis have all proven to be better so far. Ted Ginn only averaged a 22.7 a clip kick return last year. I know 2 were brought back but those are the breaks.

Ted Ginn Jr. + kick returns + injury = We're F***ED at WR

You do realize ginn is just as likely to get injured receiving the ball. The value of drafting Ginn was the potential at receiver coupled with his return ability. Without him on returns he is just another guy and we could have waited much longer to draft that guy.

it was touched on in an earlier post and i agree with it, ginn is an all or nothing returner. He has fantastic speed but he cant cut at speed and thats where the problem is. If you watch him at college speed was enough for him to blow past players and score td's. But in the NFL you have to make people miss. The only way he can score is by getting to the edge and turning upfield, think back to his pre-season return. But you cant do that consistently in the NFL. You need to make one or two cuts and burst upfield between blocks. Bess has that shiftiness that you need to do that so im happy with him returning kicks. I think we need to put ginn out there at wide reciever and air some deep balls out to him and let him outrun some db's.

I would agree that this is the single biggest problem with Sparano that i have so far. Ginn might be all or nothing, but at least he has a shot at "all" and I think he can get better at the nothing part as he learns and grows. I love Bess as a slot receiver, but I think he's average at best as a returner. He's not horrible, but he's not going to help win the field position battle. Look at the stats below... they don't lie!

Bess has one of the worst kick return averages in the league, with only 2 or 3 regular contributors having a worse average than him.
