Thought to start this thread of a Kicker, being that I haven't seen any threads on this subject. One who is available by way of the draft or free-agency.

I normally do not criticize anyone, but the present Kicker on our beloved team really needs to go.

This subject isn't mentioned a lot on this forum. Thought it would be worth posting. We all know that the Kicker is important (obviously).

I haven't researched on who might be available. If this subject was brought up prior to this one, please forgive.

Anyone in mind?

TIA,

No one drafted....just used a 5th on the best prospect in last years draft...

I will add that I think he rebounds...he was very solid until he lost his confidence (some have mentioned a possible nagging injury) and I believe he will regain his form...

Definitely not drafting one that's a waste to draft one in back to back years

If Sturgis works out the kinks, he'll be a monster. The kid has the leg to kick 60 yarders. And as we're not going to contend for the Super Bowl this year, there's no good reason to give up on him. When the day comes that we're a legitimate contender in the post-season, we can reassess and find a veteran kicker, if necessary.

He was something like 11 out of 11 until that Baltimore game when he lost every shred of confidence he had and never rebounded. He has the physical ability to be one of the best kickers in the league but does he have the mental capability?

His kicking leg is like twice the size of his plant leg. Its so wierd looking

He did make 15 of his last 18, with two of the three misses coming from 52 and 53 yards out. I can deal with that from a rookie kicker. His 6 of 11 October can't happen again, but the 26 of 29 for other portions of the season wasn't bad at all.

I wouldn't draft a kicker. Sturgis had a groin injury early in the season. Gotta be patient.
