LOL, nobody is safe!

Maybe they got a lil concerned at the fact that our current kicked has missed more FGs in one practice than he did all last season....anyone know how strong this guys leg is? Can he actually kick a touchback?

Might as well use those roster spots for something...

Maybe next we'll have some competition for Fields and Denney.

Doesn't look like barth has even as strong of a leg as Carpenter...camp kicker IMO.

Well its not like Carpenter has no flaws. He is horrible at getting touchbacks.
He was pretty similar to what Feeley was the previous season although his kickoffs were somewhat longer. To put him in perspective, Olindo Mare was a far superior kicker overall last season. Although Barth seems no better at getting touchbacks.

The fact that it's a two-year deal is curious.

No it's not. Most young players sign two-year deals, including all undrafted rookies. Only vets get one-year deals. If you sign a young guy for practically nothing, you want to own his rights a little while should be become a productive player.

I live in KS and am subjected to a lot of Chiefs games...this guy has a weak leg. I rarely saw a kickoff that got inside the 15 yard line. He only missed 2 fieldgoals last season, both came in one game and had he made 1 of them, it would have been a W.

I know Carpenter doesn't kick the ball real deep either, but it's better than this guy!

I agree he seems better, I cant wait to upgrade kicker one day soon though

I agree, this the two year deal part is very curious. I still would have to think Carpenter is the favorite, but why sign a camp kicker to a two year deal? hmm.[/quote

I also agree its curious but maybe they think Barth can be the man.

I don't see anything wrong with Carpenter missing kicks now. I'd rather the dude miss kicks now, a few days into camp, rather than in a month where it matters.

Supposedly there is no guaranteed money, so the point is moot.
