Kickoff or Receiver Monday Night?

With the kickoff rules the way they are I think everyone is going to be deferring this year. Assume you kick off and put the ball out of the endzone. Touchback. Then, if you can force the other team to go three and out or hold them to just one first down, that means the ball will be somewhere between the 25 and 35 yard line when they punt, meaning you'll be catching the punt -- assuming an average of 40 yards -- somewhere between your own 25 and 35 yard line. That's an extra 5 to 15 yards of field position before you've even returned the punt (Davone Bess averages about 10 yards per punt for his career, putting the start of your first possession somewhere between the 35 and 45 yard line). And that's gold, Jerry! Gold!

As for the crowd noise, I agree. That's a big factor, especially early in the game. Makes it harder for them to overcome the emotion of the crowd to have success early.

Take the ball. Last thing we need is to be trailing before our offense even steps on the field for the first time this season. And we are playing catch up the whole game

Defer. You have the advantage of trying to establish field position early, controlling time at the end of the half in your favor as well as starting with the ball in the second half.

I want the ball first, I want Henne to announce we want the ball and were gonna Score, doing his best Matt Hasslebeck imitation. :)

Given the Dolphins win the toss and get 2 choose.....

Do you think Sparano does his usual defer to the 2nd half and puts out the better Miami Defense first?

Or do you think/would you rather see him show some cajones and tell the captains to say they want the ball first maybe to try and show some confidence in Chad by sending the Offense out first on Monday Night Football?

You mean cojones.Cajones are drawers.
