Kidd to Dallas "imminent"

:jt0323: This will definitely be one of the most watch playoffs. Every series in the west is going to be like watching the NBA finals.

Dallas is going to be VERY thin depth wise. It wouldnt be as bad if Stackhouse was bought out and resigned with Dallas though. But that deal looks as though they are giving up pretty much their whole bench(and future in Harris)

They aren;t giving up anything except Harris...stack is near done...and a bunch of expiring contracts? what a steal.

This is a good deal by both teams i think. The nets get a center who actually plays some defense which should help along with a very good future PG. Now if they can just move Carter(for Jermaine O'neal i've been hearing) they would be pretty decent this year(not sure if they'd make the playoffs or not) and be good for the future with Kristic, RJ, Harris, Shaun Williams. If Marcus Williams or Boone ever put it toghether they'd be pretty good and if they could get O'neal to stay(which i would say is pretty unlikely though)

That is a godawful deal for NJ. Devin harris is mediocore at best and Brickhouse is likely to get dumped anyway. Diop is a slag who is completely lost on the offensive end.

Why NJ would even make that deal is beyond me. Marcus Williams is just as good as Devin Harris if not better. They didnt get 1 single good player back. Rod Thorn just weakened his own team considerably.

horrible deal for NJ. Harris is not that great of a PG. Good slasher that can cause mismatches, but he's not the type of PG their team needs. Diop joins the Nets many post players that can't score worth crap. George is done, but Ager could be something special.

Mavs might be hurting depth wise, but Kidd makes everybody around him better.

I predict Mike Bibby will be traded next.

NJ should of taken the lakers offer last year of Odom, Farmar and someone else that I dont remember. Idiot, that what they get for trying to play hardball.

I don't think the trade is as lopsided as some of you say. NJ was going nowhere with Kidd, and they weren't going to go anywhere with him either.

They got younger with Ager and Harris, got 3 mill in cash, draft picks and a serviceable big man in Diop, especially in the East (who the Magic should immediately try and get if NJ doesn't really want him). They also got rid of a malcontent.

It wasn't the trade of the century, but this will only be a "steal" if Dallas wins a title and the young players NJ got do nothing in the future. Hardly a certainty.

All we need is Lebron James to be traded to Golden State and all hell gonna break loose.

It's a done deal:

Dallas = Jason Kidd, Malik Allen
New Jersey = Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, Maurice Ager, Desagna Diop, Devean George, 2 first round picks, cash considerations.

lol @ Dallas' bench. Malik Allen is their 6th man now?

Teams should consult with Pat Riley and/or Jerry Buss before making deals.

Eh, again, I find this to be a desperation move. If they don't take it this year (and I don't think they will) they will be regressing greatly. I am just glad L.A. didn't trade for him. Those reports earlier in the day had me nervous.

Kidd will be motivated and his passes to Dirk will probably be highligt worthy, but they still can't match up in the middle with L.A., Dallas or even (dare I say it?) Phoenix.

LA Lakers vs. San Antonio/Phoenix = confirmed to me, barring injuries.

No disrespect to CP3, but he doesn't have enough support from the bench.
