Kiko Alonso has told the Dolphins he's willing to play some tight end on offense.

Lol, if he can just stay healthy and solidify's the LB group that would great.

Alonso is expected to start at middle linebacker for the Dolphins this season — he calls it “my position to lose” — but he’s not opposed to pitching in on the other side of the ball as well. Alonso played tight end during his high school days and told Gustavo Fillol Day of ESPN Argentina as part of a wide-ranging profile that he’s let the team know he’ll do it again this season.

“We have good tight ends in Miami, but if the Dolphins need me for a specific play, I can move on that side of the ball,” Alonso said. “I’ve already told the coaches that if they want me out there in a goal-line situation, I’m ready to jump into the field. I have some specific plays at hand, but I won’t reveal them.”

I don't read too much in to that. He's willing to play TE and mentioned goal-line or for a 'specific play.' Blocking, maybe. My preference is for him to focus on MLB this year, but, if Gase has a specific play . . .

Full Kiko article link above....it seems like he is really enjoying being in a city with hispanic roots. It also appears that he is really growing as a man.

He also mentioned that he loves to party (uh oh), and that he is getting along well with his fellow linebackers.

I think he is going to be a beast for us now that he is healthy.

We may need him at some point, Cameron is about one concussion from retirement. TE's and LB's are severely lacking depth and most of the starters are no strangers to the injury report.
