Kinda sux that they cut Brenner

Time moves on, but I thought they put some time in on him last year and he did okay. Weak kid, but played ok and some spots.
 
Funny thing is he different really look any different this preseason from last and might have looked worse which can't happen. One of his biggest issues was strength (beside lack of movement negated some by the center position) but looks just as weak as last year.
 
Pretty sure he goes on the practice squad. Satele's contract is guaranteed (I believe?) meaning that they will roll with him as the backup center behind Pouncey when Pouncey returns.

My guess is they think Brenner needs another season of NFL conditioning and view him as a long-term project.

Can't Garner play center as well?
 
Garner has snapped for us.... brender was a good fill in but not the answer
 
I think most people should have seen this coming. When your starting center gets hurt and the team first looks to Shelly Smith and then to Nate Garner before going outside the roster to sign Satale the message is clear. What good is a backup center that you think can't play if people ahead of him are injured or under performing?

It's like going to a dance. If a girl leaves her date, asks two of your friends for a dance and then says hi to you as she goes out in the hall to look for another dance partner you should get the hint.

The silver lining is that this may mean that Pouncey is not far from being well.

Most of Satele's contract is not guaranteed but, paid on a game by game deal if he is on the active roster for that game.
 
Kind of sucks that we don't have good enough OL's that anyone cares about Brenner...
 
I would imagine he is going PS but they may want to snag Halapio because they were checking him out at draft time.

I am pretty sure that a vested vet like Satele who is on the 53 for the first game has his contract guaranteed.

That is why teams wait until after the first game to sign a guy like Cogs, so they can pay him game to game.

Satele signed for 2 million (Meat of the contract is 1.25 million). $250,000 was a guaranteed signing bonus, $1 million should be guaranteed for being on the roster week 1 and $750,000 in "game day" bonuses split over 16 games for every game he is on the roster.
