When the New Jersey Nets decided they didn't want Shareef Abdur-Rahim, the Sacramento Kings eagerly grabbed him.

The Kings signed Abdur-Rahim to a multiyear contract Friday, three days after the Nets rescinded a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers because of medical concerns about the nine-year veteran's right knee. The Kings, who bid for the free agent's services earlier in the summer, wasted no time reasserting their interest. They quickly closed a deal, locking up a 28-year-old power forward who has racked up impressive statistics and made plenty of money, but never reached the playoffs.

``The biggest thing for me was trying to get on a team that had a chance to win and win big,'' Abdur-Rahim said. ``That's what I want to try and do for the rest of my career. The guys that are already here are accustomed to winning and competing at a high level. I'm looking forward to coming in and being a part of it. It's a nice fit for me here.''

There goes that.

The Kings, now Miami west. Loads of talent and headcases. I would have a little more confidence in Miami holding it together with Riley and Shaq the dominating presences they are. What a stacked team talent wise though:

PG Bibby, Hart
SG Wells, Garcia
SF Stojakovic, Rahim
PF Thomas, Williamson
C Miller

Give up 110 a night and hope you can average 115....

With Rahim they are now a title contender just like the Nets would have been.

Yeah, except Sac doesn't have a Shaquille O'Neal or a Dwyane Wade - big difference, IMO.

Who is Sacramento's star? Takes a second, huh?

They don't have that go-to guy still, especially if Peja doesn't return to form.

O ya, i love to see Sac. make it in the playoffs, and lose first round:D

It's official the Kings are my new favorite team in the west.

Bibby
Wells
Stojakovic
Abdur-Rahim
Miller

alot of athletic talent. If they dont get any injuries they will be fine.

the kings dont need a raheem they need some one who can play & thank GOD we got rid of cuttino mobley what a pice of doo doo that guy is. Wells ought to fit nicely and just for the record it's: Miller time!!!!!!!
