Mel Kiper: (on 8th Feb) "When you look at his explosiveness, how tough he is and his leadership are all huge assets to any defense. He's to the DT spot what Ray Lewis is to the MLB spot. In terms of energy and enthusiasm and making everyone around him better. He played through that injury this year. He's a great character guy. He's passionate about the game. I think the world of Dorsey."

He also said that the Dolphins ought to take Ryan if they are not sold on Beck.

Glenn Dorsey would be a huge upgrade and would make a imediate impact on the defence.

Beck deserves a fair chance

Unless the combines and pro days prove other wise Dorsey is my number one fav for the #1 pick. It's a huge need for us and he's one of the best DT prospect to come out in many many years.

However I think Ireland/BP might take C. Long over Dorsey.

Dorsey could very well be the next Warren Sapp, and probably will be,but i'm just not sold on him. if we draft defensively first,i'd rather take Chris Long if we get a chance at him. me personally,i'm a Defensive End guy more than i am a DT guy,but again, that's just me.

I don't think it is wise to draft a position rather than a player. C Long is phenomenal...Dorsey is better.

Top notch player at a position of need. I've come around to the opinion that at#1 anyone but Dorsey is a mistake.

It all depends whether or not we can trade down....I think Sedrick Ellis is just as good, and we could get him in the #5 to #7 spot, plus maybe an extra pick. That's why I hope we trade down.

I'm sorry but in no way is Sedrick Ellis just as good. His one great game in a senior bowl does not undo Dorsey's superior body of work. Dorsey is an incredible once in a decade, if that, prospect for his position. Ellis is just a good early first round pick. That's a world of difference.

:hi5: That's ok....

I just happen to watch alot of PAC-10 games and I have seen what Ellis has done, and not just in the Senior bowl. But these other guys can go ahead and spend Ferrari money on a Cadillac and then have buyer's remorse later on when Ellis has just as good an NFL career as Dorsey.

I just am tired of all of the Ellis is equal to Dorsey balogna. Ellis is a good player and if we trade down and nab him then that is fine...but he is in no way "as good" as Dorsey. We do take a trade down in value as well by nabbing him.

That's the fact Jack!!! Take a look:

Trust me I've watched a TON of Ellis too.

He isn't Dorsey.

He doesn't display the same use of leverage. He can't wedge himself into spaces and use the linemen's body against them as well as Dorsey does. He is quick, but doesn't have the phenomenal burst of Dorsey either. The most important factor is he is not a facillitator. Dorsey commands so much attention from an offensive line that he makes the job easier for at least one guy and sometimes two on EVERY play. Ellis is quite often isolated against a single blocker.

Dorsey is a freak. Ellis merely good.

Don't get me wrong...I really like Dorsey, but Ellis is Warren Sapp Junior....he just throws off Centers and O-lineman. He lines up sideays between the Center and Guards and once the ball is snapped he is in the backfield before he can be touched. He is much quicker than Dorsey. I know Dorsey is bigger and has a bigger upper body, but I just like what I have seen in Ellis. Spray agrees with me Mr. Tree.
