it would not be a total shock to me if miami took staley at #9. similar to what the bills did last year re: whitner- if you want a guy, take him. staley will be long gone by the time we pick again, and although it's not the ideal pick at #9, don't be supirsed if it does happen if none of the elite players drop imo.

what about ginn he has him at #10 , even though i want them to get quinn even if it means trading up

EXACTLY what I've been saying for weeks. Brown or Staley at #9 is a must for the PHins this year.

GO PHINS~!

It's posts like these that has kept me away from Finheaven more often than I used to.

While I don't think Brown would be so much of a reach at #9, there's talk that Cam isn't even looking at him for the #9 pick. Smoke screen? Who knows. Staley on the other hand, while I would love to have him, is not the man to take at #9. There's no reason to think we can't trade down, if possible, and still be able to take him. I think the earliest i've seen him in a mock draft was #29 to the Ravens. I could be wrong though.

If we reach for Staley, I could be fine with it. It's a reach for a player with tremendous upside at a spot where we've been weak since Webb left. I think he's a better gamble than Whitner was.

I dont like the idea of taking either Brown or Staley at #9. Brown just isnt my cup of tea, just seems hes destined for the right side of the OL to me. And Staley is far to raw-makes Ginn look like hes playing his position for 50 years. Great upside to be sure, but to much of a project at 9.
If we trade down I could live with Staley though. And could also see us moving back into the lower first ala buffalo again and wouldnt be upset.

But for our #9 I want an instant playmaker. If no QB then its gotta be Ginn. Even being raw hes an instant KR/PR threat and is still a dangerous reciever.

I like Levi Brown and hope wew can get him then I hope we can land eric weddell in the later rounds

I'm all for Joe Staley.

I have him rated higher than Levi. I would not mind Joe Staley at #9 if we have no shot at Quinn or LaRon Landry.
