Knee Surgery to sideline David Garrard

So you count John Beck as a hit because even though you liked him after we picked him when he went out there and sucked you were able to tell that he sucked? Wow, what evaluating.

This whole Garrard thing doesn't even count as a hit. You're saying he's running some kind of con on the Dolphins to scam them out of a million bucks. Show me some proof of that, then you get credit. Otherwise, it's a bunch of a tin foil hat nonsense. Simply predicting that a guy who's been out of football for a year with injury might come back and get injured does not a Nostradamus make.

Look, if you're going to tout yourself as some kind of great evaluator and complain when people criticize you or even whine in the most pathetic of manners that people don't treat you with as much respect as CK, then you deserve to have it pointed out to you when you stuck your head out in the wind and got a mouth full of ****. If you can't take it, then don't come on with all the bluster.

Fair enough.

You make some fair points.

While I cant prove Garrard's motive, when you look at all of the evidence, it sure seems awfully mysterious that he just happened to have an injury now.

Also, there were a ton of people who thought Beck needed more time. That was a heated debate. There werent that many of us saying Beck was garbage at the time.

You got a point. But there's no denying the Garrard's situation looks fishy a best, and Philbin, to this point, hasnt even admitted to the fact Garrard is injured. Im far from agreeing with everything WV says but you got to admit that on this one, he pretty much called it like 2 days before it actually happened, to a tee...

Classy of you to say.

As for Beck, the only caveat is I always feel it's premature to write a book on a rookie quarterback one way or another. All you can do is offer a reactionary first impression, which can either be right or wrong, but it's not a judgement being done in a comprehensive manner.

Just my view.

The closest a rookie quarterback has ever come to violating this rule is Cam Newton, who was utterly fantastic and came as close to decisively proving his doubters wrong and closing the debate on whether he's a franchise quarterback as anyone I've ever seen (and I was a semi-doubter myself). Beck ended up being as bad as a veteran as he looked as a rookie, but other rookie quarterbacks have proven their first impressions wrong (Eli Manning, for example). Blaine Gabbert was terrible as a rookie but looked pretty darn good against the Giants last night. Aaron Rodgers was so bad as a rookie it's said he would have been cut had he not been a 1st round pick.
