“I’m definitely not there,” Moreno said, via the Miami Herald. “This is just the beginning. It’s just the beginning, getting your feet wet, and when you have time off, working at those little things, getting back to where you need to be, and once camp comes, it’ll be good.”

Coach Joe Philbin suggested that Moreno was out of shape last week and this week featured Moreno working with backups at Dolphins practice whileLamar Miller continued to run with the starters. Moreno is not ignorant of the message being sent by the Dolphins and he doesn’t seem to disagree with it while promising that things will look different once training camp rolls around.

It is really amazing, that in this days NFL, players would not keep themselves in some kind of shape. With the amount of money that they are getting paid, there should be a clause that can not show up at camp fat and out of shape.

I guess he figures that he will not have any competition and he just does not have to worry about what the coaches think of him.:sarcon:

Or...... he could be ready now? :idk:

Try this on your boss and you would get fired.

"No worries, I know my reports have been really crappy but once the really important one comes around, you will get my best."

That plus he actually played football 6 weeks longer than the Dolphin players. Let's see where he's at come training camp.

It's not difficult at all for an athlete to get back into the shape they were in a couple of moths ago, in the three months he has to do it. It's a non issue.

the body needs rest too. There is a benefit to resting your body after taking a pounding. These guys are not robots. As long as he is rady to go when it is time for camp, he will be fine.

Meh, he'll be fine. 26-27 year old pro athletes get back into shape pretty damn fast. It's also a one year contract so he better get his crying ass into shape.

There are a lot of ways to look at this. Was it the superbowl loss that he is trying to get over? Is he tired from the extra work he put in for playoffs and superbowl? Is he depressed because he really wanted to stay in Denver and they let him go? I don't care what it is personally as long as (if he is depressed/tired) he gets over it and comes back with more motivation than before and proves something. I think it's time to get the game face on though. :d-day:

Knowshown Moreno was still playing football in February, whil everyone else here stopped in December. The fact that he is out of shape right now (and knows it) is not ok.

If he is ready when the season begins I won't care. Yeah it would be nice if he was up to speed and back in shape right now, but it is just OTA's. Maybe the heat is getting to him.

You can rest the body and still maintain your fitness. It is not like he has to go into the gym and kill himself.
