The fact Misi will not be competing for a job for an indefinite time means rookie Raekwon McMillan’s chances of being one of the team’s three starting linebackers improves dramatically. McMillan, a second-round pick, was expected to receive the strongest challenge for a starting job from Misi, who has started 72 games for the Dolphins since 2011.

I think this a blessing in disguise. IMHO, Misi is just another guy that really does not do anything to harm the team, but him making a significant contribution to improve the team is also lacking. You know he is going to get hurt again, so cutting him loose or to a backup role seems to make the most since.

I was only expecting him to play a relief role (if any) this year. If he does any good hopefully it is a reminder to the younger players to take care of their bodies, stay healthy and available.

we probably won't see him on the field anytime soon. Misi is a good player, just never could stay healthy

You have to consider the alternatives before you call Misi not being fit a blessing in disguise.

It's Hewitt or Hewitt. Or maybe Hewitt.

This is no surprise.

I would be surprised if he has any significant contribution this year. Or next.

Pouncey's elite play (when healthy) is the only thing that makes him any different.

Nothing too major to worry about. I have faith that McMillan is smart enough and hard enough of a worker that he'll do ok starting right away, especially next to two good vets. This way misi will be available for reinforcements when we need him mid season. McDonald too. Good second half of the season guys to have.

So what else is new? They should never count on him or Pouncey to be healthy

Ozzy rules!!

I honestly forgot he was on the team, so any contribution will be a bonus in my book.

...and we're prepared for the situation...nice.

I have to think if the doctors did not expect Misi to be able to play eventually, he never would have made it this far on the roster. Hopefully he'll be a nice luxury to have in the rotation when finally healthy.

Misi was a solid player for us. But honestly, at this point, I don't understand why we still have him on the roster? Certainly, we can find a veteran equivalent at this point in FA or via some sorta trade.

No surprise here. Hopefully McMillan hits the ground running, grabs that position, and never looks back. Perfect opportunity for him now.
