Kraft will not appeal

You know this means a reduction of Brady's suspension. Clear as day.
 
On NFL Sirius they were pretty confident the the Patriots could get their penalty reduced due to no fault was found in the Well's report.
They were not too confident on Brady getting a reduction unless he came clean and admitted some guilt.

This throws a monkey wrench in that whole argument. Don't know what to think now.
 
They didnt appeal the team issue because taking the NFL to court would be a losing hand.

Based on the way the NFL is structured they had to take the NFL to court outside the internal mechanism. Because there is no internal mechanism to challenge NFL decisions.
That was the NFL equivalent of the nuclear option.
And if this issue was going to court and you are starting to be able to search things that the Wells reports couldn't get to like Brady's phone Kraft would have gotten killed.

Just by doing it would have sent shockwaves and would have likely destroyed Kraft's standing in the NFL ownership Cabal.
This was all probably scripted from the get go and Kraft had to shake his fists enough to appease his fans then back down without actually doing anything.

I suspect that Kraft, who likely has Goodell on speed dial, is going to try to leverage this to reducing Brady's suspension.
If there is no reduction then it tells you have weak the Pats argument is.
Probably goes down to two games. Still sends the Pats to Ralph Wilson without Brady which will be big.

The nflpa already filed the appeal on behalf of brady last week. These are two separate parties and and would have been 2 separate appeals. Brady will fight for a complete reversal of his suspension not the team fines or draft picks losses.

Goodell should do the right thing and step down as arbitrator in Brady's appeal. If he truly believes the wells report is independent and has all the proof
he needs then why not let a truly independent arbitrator rule on the appeal. The owners and little hitler goodell may have gotten kraft to get onboard
for the good of the owners group Brady isn't one of the fat 32.

I will be honest I didn't expect it to go down this way.
I assumed Brady would have taken the fall and by quid pro quo the pats would have gotten their picks back.
All those press conferences looked like an attempt to insulate the Pats org and make Brady a scapegoat.

Losing a first and fourth is much more painful than losing Brady for a couple games.

The crux of the independent arbiter is the "punishment" angle. Since it is pretty clear the Patriots are guilty of something.
That said justice in the NFL is a fantasy land. Though if you look at comparables the Patriots, in a vacuum, seemed to have been punished harshly.
The escalator here is the apparent recidivism and the Patriots being caught in a lie.
The final thing is the public is overwhelmingly behind punishing the Pats. The powers will look to appease the majority at the expense of the minority.

It's his right per the CBA that the owners and player agreed on. You can't give a hand job out to Bob Kraft for putting that deal together then squawk about the power it gives the commissioner. Your boy Tom 1000% knew what was going on with those balls and that's why he wouldn't turn his phone over. This guy is as image conscious as they come. If he had nothing to do with this he's be screaming from the mountain tops and cooperating 100%.

I hope and pray that this ends up in court. Teflon Tom's cell phone probably hold more goodies about these shenanigans than anyone really wants to know about.
