Reports are trickling in that Bob Kuechenberg has passed away... If true, then rest in peace "Kooch" you were a hero to me growing up...

Numbing. I'm not even sure I want to read about it. That team was such a major part of my youth. The offensive linemen were every bit as well known and popular as the skill position guys. Thunderous applause and hankies waving everywhere as that unit was introduced and ran out onto the field from the center of the west end zone.
Obviously it's a shame he never made the Hall of Fame. Paul Zimmerman of Sports Illustrated always pushed for him in those Hall meetings but for some reason there was opposition and Zimmerman could never persuade enough of his colleagues.

I can't find any reports saying he has passed away other than Wikipedia and that can't fully be trusted.

Great player.. very under appreciated by many playing in 4 out of 5 Dolphin Superbowls... including Super Bowl 8 going against hall of famer Alan Page (Purple People Eaters) with a broken arm... and dominating.
Went to multiple pro bowls...and was named all-pro multiple times.
I believe he holds the distinction of being the only player to make the pro bowl at guard...and at left tackle one year when forced to change positions due to injury.
Should have made the hall of fame but always came up short.

Wow, one of my all time favorite players. A real warrior and one of the leaders of our team. Should be in the HOF. If this is true, RIP
It says on Wikipedia he died on the 11th
It's on the Miami Dolphins Facebook page but oddly not on their website.
