Kwame Brown a Laker

Lakers traded Butler and another player for Kwame. I think Id rather have Butler, Kwame has been a huge underachiever.

I love Caron (big Uconn fan) but this trade is good for both. Butler is kinda stuck in LA because Odom is a 3 in the West and Kobe plays the 2. Bulter should be able to come to Wash. and be the starter at the 2 or 3. Kwame wasn't getting much PT anyway in Wash. so they got a good player for someone they didn't even want. For the Lakers they got a player with upside but hasn't shown it yet.. I think he is certianly worth a shot he is still very young and immature. He has shown flashes of brilliance.

I'm a Uconn fan too (live 10 min from Storrs) and also like Bulter. However, as you said, he's wasted in L.A. and maybe Brown can be fixed by Jackson. If not, what did they really lose?

I think this is another bad move by the Lakers and GM Mitch Cupcake....I dont see these moves (or having Phil back) getting the Lakers any closer to even being a playoff team.

As far as being #1 pick yes but he has shown potential already check last season stats 7 ppg 4.9 rpg but he was used rarely

the year before that he showed his potential again 10.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg but in la i think he could do well

Also to note my charlotte team...Felton will be wearing #20 and May #42...

Hes desperate....its just another high risk move. In all probability Brown will be out of the league in a few years....he doesnt seem to have the motivational drive that some atheletes possess. You would think the Lakers could of gotten something decent in return for Butler....hes a really good player.

My bad wrong Chucky:rolleyes: Hope it's not Atkins in the deal cause I like him.

If Brown can't flourish under Phil Jackson, there's no hope for him.

I used to live in South Windsor... I am the only Uconn fan in the ATL and were my shirts proud. Bulter won't bring anymore than a former young #1 pick right now named Kwame. I love Caron but he is just a wingman that can score and somewhat rebound. Will be a good fit on the Wiz. because all they have at the 2,3 is Jarvis Hayes, and Jared Jeffris.

Being a Wiz fan I like this trade. Kwame does have alot of upside but he's a complete loser, a terrible person. He folded like a cheap lawnchair under the pressure of being a high lottery pick and never developed into even a decent player. He was never a quality starter.
Butler is a good player and a class guy. He may never be a great player, but he is really good and will compete every night. He really helps to fill the void Hughes departure left us. He will fit right in with Jamison and Arenas and give us a solid core that should compete for and get to the playoffs. Really with Kobe, Kwame and some highschool kid already comparing himself to Shaq the Lakers have a prescription for failure. If Phil can work this lineup into a good team he's the greatest coach ever.
Its ironic that we picked a complete dud with the #1 overall pick, a move that probaly ended Jordan's tenure here more than anything, and got probaly the best player in that draft, a 2nd rounder a couple years later-Arenas in free agency.
Kwame is a really big player with talent but he's not even close to as talented as advertised and he truly is a disaster as a person. I wish him the best but I am so glad he is gone. I don't care if he goes onto be a star with LA, I never want to see him in a Wizards uniform again.

yea... i too like this trade beign a wiz fan in DC area... i think caron can produce better than he did in LA with Gil and Jamison. I think the wiz now have to get a big guy to help out in the frontcourt
