Kwitty Paye

I’ve been doing a deeper dive into Kwity Paye and I really like what I’ve seen. He reminds me a bit of Emmanuel Ogbah actually. 6’3” 261 pounds he ran a 4.54 at his pro day (probably a bit slower than that but that’s explosive). He also did 36 reps of 225 which is absolutely insane and shows he’s a hard worker as well as physical freak. Saw a NFL Draft player profile on him on ESPN was very interesting his mother had a rough life living in Liberia during the civil war, she escaped to America to get her kids a better life. He seems like the kind of person Flores would love, motivated and humble. This years draft class is tricky for the edge group cause all the prospects have concerns but if I’m gonna draft one I want one with physical tools and high character and Paye checks those boxes

Paye has a chance to be special. He's got a rare combo of explosion and agility. Already a good run defender. I'm a huge fan, and if he develops his pass rush arsenal more, his upside is huge.

I don’t see it. If it’s DE it’s either one of the two kids from Miami, Oweh or Azeez Ojulari (my favorite.)

Watched his highlights and Pro day. Dude is a beast. Michigan misused him a lot but you see his awareness, speed and raw aggression. I seriously doubt he is there at 18. If he is scoop him up and say "thanks".

Guys, we don't want sacks from our DE's as a first priority. We want big heavy handed guys that set the edge, stop the run, and given some time, disrupt the QB. Sacks will come from the blitz, stunts, and coverage.

I would take him at 18.
Sacks didn't really come all that often with that system this past season. I recall more than a few QB's with way too much time in the pocket. Parsons at 18, earlier if we move up, could check a FEW boxes in this defense.

That sounds like Basham. But he could be there at #36.

Are you a consultant for Flo?
When you have a good edge rusher, you start rushing from the edge. Its call coaching.

In todays NFL, you never have too many DE who can get to the qb. I like how he can play down inside in 4 3 and can also lineup out wide to rush. No problem with him at 18.
