Kyle Crabbs 7rd mock

Faulk is a more athletic version of former Dolphin, Kendall Langford, who also stood 6'6" and 290lbs. Langford was a tremendous run stuffer and edge setter, but not much of a pass rusher.

Faulks athletic ability and versatility is what might help him in his growth as a pass rusher.

He's certainly an enigma.

He looks & plays more like Phillip Merling ... who we also got that draft iirc. Faulk is a 2nd/3rd pick in a better draft ... not to mention this team is about to run that Saleh 4-3 so 11 is way too rich.

Big pass for me. Downs is the obvious choice then see what the big receivers run ... although next year is the time to get a QB & receiver.

I’m warming up to the idea of Styles at LB. Perhaps a slight overdraft, but the kid just seems like one of those prospects that’s worth it. He’s got it all, and may from what I’ve read, outperformed Reese in the 2nd half of the season. Kid can do it all. When was the last time we drafted a star LB. There’s been a few years where we’ve dropped the ball and missed out. I’m high on Downs, Delane and the Miami OT. Downs and the OT will probably be off the board, if Delane and Styles are both on the board, man, not sure which way I’d go. Hopefully we’ll have that luxury.

I think S can be very impactful, e.g., Reed, Polamalu, Easley, etc., but for that it really has to be a ballhawk who will get a significant number of INTS, FFs, etc. Downs doesn't seem to be that. He seems a pretty sure bet to be a very good player and roughly equivalent to Minkah when Minkah came out. Minkah gave 11 overall value over his rookie contract (mostly for Steeler though). If Downs is there at 11 I'd certainly consider him, but it wouldn't be a slam dunk for me.

I read somewhere Kenyon Sadiq measured just above 6’2

Maybe a bad dream

Minkah was 3x All Pro on his 5 year rookie contract.

If Downs is roughly equivalent to Minkah, what more do you want to make it a “slam dunk”? 4x or 5x All Pro?

Because there is no guarantee that Downs will be a 3x All Pro or a 1x All Pro or even a Pro Bowler. Yes, if there were such a guarantee he would be a slam dunk for 11. As I said, Minkah gave at least 11th pick value. But surely it’s not hard to understand that if Downs were to not be as good as Minkah he would provide less value, right?

Fair, but doesn’t that apply to any player if they don’t achieve their projected value?

Sure, but 3X All Pro on a rookie contract is a pretty extreme projection. That happens very infrequently. I certainly wouldn't assume Downs can/will accomplish that. But as I said, I think he has enough of a chance to be a serious consideration at 11, which is pretty rare for an S.

Yup, no thanks.

My preference is to resign both Dulcich and Julian Hill but I’m fine with using a later round pick on a big TE like Joe Royer or Sam Roush.

That height means little to me, especially in this system where most of the TE blocking is on the move. I think 6-2 is fine. Arm length may be a more an issue than height and even that I don't think is all that important.

TEs that are tall generally (not always) have longer arms for blocking and pass catching.

I went through the top 40 TEs by receiving yards in 2025 and got tired of looking. There isn’t a single 6’2” in the top group. (Source)

The first 6’3” TE is #17 and there’s only 4 of them in top 40. Everyone else is 6’4” or taller.

1. Trey McBride 6’4”
2. Kyle Pitts 6’6”
3. Juwan Johnson 6’4”
4. Travis Kelce 6’5”
5. Tyler Warren 6’6”
6. Dalton Schultz 6’5”
7. Hunter Henry 6’5”
8. Harold Fannin 6’4”
9. Colston Loveland 6’6”
10. Brock Bowers 6’4”
11. Oronde Gadsden II 6’5”
12. George Kittle 6’4”
13. Jake Ferguson 6’5”
14. Dallas Goedert 6’5”
15. Cade Otton 6’5”
16. Dalton Kincaid 6’4”
17. Chigoziem Okonkwo 6’3”

22. Sam LaPorta 6’3

25. Evan Engram 6’3”

38. Elijah Higgins 6’3”

40. David Njoku 6’4”

If sadiq is 6 foot 2 that’s more h back size. I’d worry more about lack of separation though than anything if that’s legit. I don’t know if it is but a flex that can’t separate is a bust in waiting. Especially with a top 15 pick.
