From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Will the Browns keep tackle or be left without Shelton?

Are the Miami Dolphins poised to try and swoop left tackle L.J. Shelton away from the Browns, and pushing hard to do so the minute veteran free agents are available to sign at 12:01 a.m. tonight?
Hmm.
The Browns have had talks with Shelton about a new contract, but Miami may be a very intriguing second option for the left tackle.

Assuming this to be correct, and assuming we really do want Brees, I wonder where the money to do all of this is going to come from. Should be an interesting three hours coming up...

exactly. We'll still get under, just don't expect a lot of free agents this year.

Look on the bright side, we might actually get some compensation picks next year.

I agree. We are going to sign Free Agents, but it won't be like previous years where we got like 10-12 new players. We will probably sign one big name(hopefully Brees) and then 4-5 mid range veterans. It isn't like we are going to cut all these players and just sit silent as Free Agency goes on.

there wont be any compensating if there is a lockout

there won't be a lockout. There are two more seasons garunteed, and the threat of no cap. In 2008 there might be a strike, but I believe something will get done before then.

money wasn't an issue, the trade was. Arizona wanted Ricky for Shelton straight up. Saban wanted a draft pick as well.

Allllllriiiiiggggghhhtttt Miami! Making moves on the offensive line is the best thing i have herd about all day. If we are getting Brees we have to get some protection for him, good start by Nick Saban.

the union will decertify to avoid a lockout

No way Upshaw gets rid of his million dollar salary by decertifying. There will be a lock out if not CBA and there will be scabs.
