It's crazy that most of this fanbase don't think this team is a joke. When sports are discussed, the Marlins and Dolphins are usually the butts of the jokes in South Florida. The Heat are usually the only team in town worth mentioning and having any kind of pride/winning culture. This team has been mediocre for decades and people dislike when I call them a joke. Please take off your goggles and see this current team for what they are, not what they once were.

I'm not saying he's a bust...yet, but how many pass rush success started off as poorly as Jordan? The problem isn't so much Jordan as it is Ireland picked him for a scheme he doesn't fit.

Most efficient rookie pass rusher last year. Got a pressure on 9% of rush snaps. How is that poor? Oh wait it's just another uninformed post from datruth. He graded out as the 28/52 4-3 DE last year with barely any play time. If you want to stop making such horrible posts, you could do a little research instead of talking out of your ass.

I'm not saying Jordan will be as good as these players but to answer your question of successful pass rushers who started off as poorly as Dion.

These are the players that finished their careers with 100 or more sacks in their careers who started their careers with two or fewer sacks.

Kevin Greene 160 career sacks had 0.0 sacks as a rookie.

Chris Doleman 150.5 career sacks has 0.5 sacks as a rookie.

Michael Strahan 141.5 career sacks had 1.0 sacks as a rookie.

John Randle 137.5 career sacks had 1.0 sacks as a rookie.

So 4 guys, 2 of which were DTs, playing in a time when running the ball was a lot more likely than passing the ball. We can hope the light comes on for Jordan but looking at these 4 guys on your list the one thing they had in common was a relentless desire to be the best and a chip on their shoulder especially John Randle who IIRC was undrafted and played every game like he had to prove everyone wrong. I don't see that type of physical nastiness in Jordan that these guys had.

Like I said before though if Jordan isn't putting in the work he'll be found out pretty quickly and won't be around long.

Here's something I just pulled out of my butt. He was the 1st defensive player in the draft and tied for 14th among all rookies in sacks. Top 5 pick who should be elite...but is not.

Only John Randle was a DT. Kevin Greene was a OLB. Chris Doleman and Michael Strahan were DEs.

The fact that you used sacks to defend your "point" just demonstrates the lack of football knowledge found in your other posts. It's like saying wins is the most important stat of a pitcher. The things that go into the sack/win are far more important than the outcome. If you consistently do the right things, you will eventually have the right outcome. It's statistics. Dion Jordan was a victim of sample size. The league average of converting pressures into sacks is at about 25%. Dion happened to be well below that. If you believe that he has a problem with taking down the quarterback, then you can believe that, but I don't think that's an issue. You could attack the one part of my post that's weak (metrics) or you could use actual statistical analysis to try and beat my argument. The problem is that you can't.
