And Zach covering 6-6 TE Mercedes Lewis, uh oh.

The two tallest players -- wide receiver Matt Jones and tight end Marcedes Lewis -- are 6-6. So although the Jaguars might rank below the league average by allowing 175 passing yards a game, the Dolphins know this won't be easy.
One reason: This secondary isn't exactly vertically gifted.
''We're undersized, absolutely,'' said Goodman, one of three players in the secondary who is shorter than 6 feet. ``If I was the quarterback, and I had those guys on the edge, I'd just tell them to do what they do. It's just like rebounding in basketball.
``And unfortunately, I can't grow 4 inches this week.''

Garrard needs to get the ball to them first...

During the exhibition game Matt Jones had a big day against us.Even though our defense has improved I still think he will give us headaches.

I wonder if this was part of what happened to us when we played the Jags in preseason and they killed our secondary, alot.

I think that you're right on that one, and Zach at 5-9 covering Mercedes Lewis might be anything from difficult to comical.

those receivers are some of the most inconsistent players in the league....actually their the most inconsistent team in the league to be honest. If we catch them on a good day though, watch out, their very talented. but they'll shoot themselves in the foot almost as much as we do.

Doesn't matter if they are all 7 feet tall if they can't catch the ball.. These guys are almost as bad as Atlanta's WRs when it comes to dropping balls.. Hopefully this isn't the week they rectify that..

matt jones only caught his first TD pass last week he is a deffinant threat but ithink our front 7 will do well enough for our secondary not to be put under to much pressure

but you have to remeber this is a 10 times better secondary then in preseason... and fred taylor has had some big days aginst us im very worried about him

I'm not afraid of these guys. Mainly because our pass rush is back. If we get to gerrard, then he can't torch us through the air. Plain and simple.

What he said...

If tall people were good, basketball players would be playing football..........

I just got threw reading a article about that. It was either on the Herald or on the Sentinel.

Thats an intresting point but they are inconsistent, and they suck on the road.

It does concern me. The Jaguars WRs have struggled this season, but they've had games where they were all making the catches they should, and catches that most wouldn't. Their height mainly concerns me in the redzone. Our DBs aren't the most gifted in the area of "ball skills", especially Will Allen and Travis Daniels.

You can't just go into a game saying their WRs can't concern you because they drop passes. The Jaguars, just like the Falcons, have young, gifted WRs. If they are catching passes it does pose a problem. We just have to really have some good blitz/coverage schemes to confuse Garrard into throwing some poor passes.
