Lack of Mike Wallace deep ball is because Ryan Tannehill can't make that throw.

Honestly they simply don't take enough shots in Games....Gotta practice it live and stop hoping everything this will be perfect! Throw the damn ball...

I agree 100%, and time to do it is in the first half and while we are having success running the ball.....play action will help Thomas but even before Thomas was in the game we didn't take our shots which is a head scratcher...play action on early downs (non passing downs) early in the game is how we need to approach it going forward...

If you go back and watch most of those long plays from Beg Ben to Wallace, they mostly come while The play breaks down and roesthlisber is out of the pocket scrambling buying time. Wallace is generally wide open on those plays giving Ben more leeway for error on his throws because even Mr. hamster can get to the wide open ball.

Some QBs can hit speedy WRs in stride, on the deep ball.

29 games in Miami, and Ryan Tannehill has yet to hit the Mike Wallace deep ball in stride. Not even once. Just accept reality. It isn't that Mike Wallace "sucks". It's just that Ryan Tannehill can't arc a deep ball into a fast bucket. It's a throw that he can't make.

How come he has hit Hartline in stride for a deep touchdown then?

That fact makes me point the finger at Wallace.

Mike Wallace sucks. He's a part time player with a 1/4 of the skills required to play WR. Missing of course, is the ability to catch a football, route running, tracking a football in the air, being able to play above his shoulder pads, etc.

All I know is that Wallace and his yards after a catch per reception SUCKS

Here's a little comparison
of yards after catch average

Thomas...10.3 yac
Williams....9.4
Landry...5.8
Miller...5.7
Sims...5.3
Clay...5.0
Matthews..4.6
Hartline...4.2
Wallace...4.1
Gibson...3.8

Sorry, but our so called speedster and playmaker is anything but

There are some people on this forum that are just way too hellbent on hating Tannehill anymore.

The thumbs down on the pictures I posted are just awesome people. It's not an opinion or skewed statistics, it's a photo. It's undeniable proof of butter fingers. Don't like the GIF of Wallace letting one slide right through his basket? You've got a choice, either blame the track star or your own agenda.

He makes that catch, and we're in the playoffs last year, so you could draw the conclusion that Mike Wallace cost us the playoffs in 2014.

I wouldn't put it all on Wallace on one play. There was plenty of blame to go around last year for not making the playoffs and the O-line would be at the top of the list.

Plain and simple the chemistry between Tannehill and Wallace never developed. Wallace doesn't want to put in the time after practice to work on the deep ball with Tannehill and I'm OK with the reason...it's tiring plus Wallace has had hamstring issues in the past so it's also risky. Wallace is also not the receiver that will instill confidence into Tannehill with his deep passes. Wallace has a small catch radius...that's undeniable, he doesn't high point the ball...I'm not sure I can remember him catching a ball over his head to tell you the truth...he may have I just can't remember. He's not particularly physical where he'll throw a stiff arm or break a tackle and make something happen after the catch like a Dez Bryant...for all his speed he's not elusive in the open field either. I'm guessing Jeff Ireland saw his highlights and fell in love with that aspect and signed him. If you'll remember during hard knocks Ireland was very reluctant to cut Clyde Gates cause of his speed. Where is Clyde Gates now?

People must not understand what the role of an offensive line is and how a bad one effects a QB.
