La'el Collins did not win starting job.

you know, not winning a starting spot on the Cowboys OL as a rookie doesn't necessarily speak to his abilities. that OL is simply loaded

I'd sure like to have him -- getting him for free was criminal!

He would of won a starting job in Miami, BUT that still wouldn't mean he was starting NFL materiel as a rookie.

Well at least he will have more time to get his ass eaten by hookers

I always thought that was a given going in which made the Cowboys a bit of a surprise when he chose them. They've got the best line in the NFL so cracking the starting lineup would be very tough to impossible for any rookie.

If Dallas offered him for a 2016 second or third round pick would you bite?

Looks like La'el may not have made the best decision...or he wasn't as good as we thought.

i disagree... that starting OLine in Dallas is a very very dominant one, a tough one to come in and take a starting job as a rookie. The kid has been dominating at times in his games and will be improving more. Have you watched him play at all??? He most likely will be getting time this season!!!

I think the contact that he signed....guaranteed money and perks...would make him impossible to be traded

I wasn't saying he played poorly...and no I haven't watched him...

Still he went into a situation in which winning a job would be difficult and since his main goal is getting enough good tape to get a nice second contract, not playing isn't going to help.

who really knows though. Collins signed a three-year deal and Doug Free is 31 and missed 5 games last season. he might get a chance to start at RT (or LG) at some point.

EDIT: Dallas could save 2.5 million if they cut Doug Free next year. there might be a chance for Collins to actually start at T as early as next season, maybe sooner if there's an injury

He went to Dallas because he wanted to transition to Tackle and make more cash on his re-up in three years. Sounds like he better worry about the right now instead of the down the road.

That line is loaded with talent but frankly if you are projected at the top of round 1 in the draft you shouldn't have a problem breaking into a starting roster spot.

I had heard he wanted to play T. He wasnt beating out Albert or James

would have been a helluva swing tackle this year and a potential starter next year if we give up on Albert due to injury or decline in play
