we should have everyone wraped up very soon which is awesome. Can't wait to see this kid making plays for us.

Ozzy rules!!

The contracts are all slotted... not much negotiating at all any more for rookies... just look at what the guy in your slot signed last year and up it by less than 1%.... shouldn't be long before all rookies on every roster are all done

Yes... I like the salary being less variable so the rookies can get in the work without the distractions. Since you seem to know the new deal can you tell me what the big negotiating points are now in the system? Are there "fringes" that they can ask for aside from salary?

Miller, FROM THE K!

DA K!

Miller was a freshaman when I was a senior at Miami Killian Senior High. Great to see a old teammate make the Fins. Played along side Stephen Tulloch as well and Bobby Washington those who remember the B.W. drama in regards to the U.

COUGAR PRIDE!

Basically in the past, the team had a rookie pool and was free to spend as much of that pool anywhere it pleased. Now each draft slot has a set percentage of the rookie pool associated with it.

So what it comes down to is whether you want to fully guarantee the fourth year of the contract or not... that is really the only negotiation point since the salary, including signing bonus and incentives are all prorated in a straight line over the length of the rookie contract.

They got rid of all the crazy escalators and set concrete contract lengths (1st rounders get 4 years with a team option for a 5th year, 2nd-7th get 4 year deals, and undrafted free agents get 3).

The only change in dollars every year is going to be from the slight increase in rookie pool cap each year, but its minimal... makes for a very easy process, and basically just a formality
