Who Mueller signs in free agency will tell who they plan on picking in the draft.
If they sign Hamlin, then Landry is not a possibility.
If they sign Washington then Ginn isn't a choice.
If they sign a OL then Brown won't be a choice.

The only way they get Quinn is to move above Houston and Minnesota.

I actually think the best impact player will be Landry.
He has the best talent of any defensive player in the draft.

At this point it's pretty obvious to me we are trying to keep the defense intact and retool the offense. I think Landry is going to be a hell of a player but I no longer would even consider any defenisive guy in the first round.

It should be an offensive lineman. Levi Brown is most likely I'd say. If we can't get an offensive lineman or receiver worth the #9 pick I'd actually like to move back a few spots where we can pick up another pick or two and address an offensive need.

Levi Brown isn't worth the 9th pick in the draft.
Landry or Branch or Okoye are.
A trade down is a possibility, but Landry will be a star.

heres my 2 cents.

I take landry with the ninth overall.
If bell stays on with the team, I have him and landry at S.

move allen to CB, his natural position, and a current weakness on our roster.
It's still a helluva combo, allen and daniels.

Sign joey porter and our LB crop is awfully scary.

taylor, rod wright, and roth fill the d line.

rounds 2-7 we can shoot for stanton if he's there, or khalil, or a LT.
From what I can see this draft should be pretty deep with OL guys.
We could fill a bunch of offensive positions and get some depth on both sides of the ball with draft picks we are accumulating.

Levi Brown might not be available at #9. You heard it here first (i think).

You certainly haven't been the first to said that. it's been speculated multiple places that Houston could snatch him up at 8, I've even seen one or two places that prior to the combine had him at #5 to Arizona.

Although not necessarily a great fit in terms of need, I would be ecstatic to get a player of his caliber at #9. I really believe that, assuming we go with a BPA strategy, we can't really go wrong in this draft. One of the upper echelon guys will fall to us, we just have to accept whomever it is and snatch him up. If not Brady, or Adams, I'm hoping it's Landry.

As much as I like landry, drafting a saftey in the first round, two years in a row= alot of money being spent on safties. Not the position I would think you would want that much tied up in. Just my opinion. Of course if J.Allen gets moved to Corner then I could see it being possible.

so when and how does this approach improve the offense? especially now, after we've let the LT, TE and # 3 WR/slot guy/return guy go? also, considering the QB position is still very sub-par, how does landry help? landry will be a helluva pro, but we finished # 5 in total defense last year, and were 6 and 10. where are the playmakers on offense? if we load up on draft picks and clear deadweight from the salary cap, and spend it all on the defense, we're looking at 6 and 10 again. no thanks...
