They just need to move on, if it wasn't the USC job, it would've been another one in a couple years. At least with him leaving after one year, the probabtion UT will go on won't be as bad as if he had 2-3 more years to do more damage.

Damn,Tenn. needs to be thankful he left.

That's a slam dunk slander case if they go through with it.

They did it so they could say, "See buddy? That's where all your 'Kiffin' goes when you flush the toilet."

I heard about this. Is it really that big a deal that he left?

It was interesting. Pete Carroll leaves USC...and fans give him a proper goodbye. Kiffin leaves Tennessee, they riot.

In all honesty, I'm not mad at Pete Carroll...he felt he needed that challenge and felt it was a promotion. Kiffin said this was his dream job, I'm not going to fault him. Dooley the same. It happens every year. I don't understand why Tennessee feels the need to throw a fit about it.

Do they really want a coach there that doesn't even want to be there?

There's really nothing to do in Tennessee huh? I bet that sewage center will be one of the main tourist attractions in that state. Seriously, who cares that Lane Kiffin left? They sound so bitter as if they lost a guy who will win multiple national championships. This guy SUCKS. Hell He hasn't done anything in the pro and college level and now USC will find out about it soon. I'm willing to bet Derek Dooley turns out to be a very good coach for Tennessee.

I get the fact that sports have die hard fans but the people that run this sewage plant, you have to think they are part of the older crowd. You'd think they'd be mature enough to not do something so childish.

Consider the cultures. Los Angeles is a very well-educated town full of highly successful people/transplants. The majority of the USC fan base isn't always located in Los Angeles as they travel and move about the country. Knoxville is primarily full of less educated Southerners who have never ventured out of the South.

In the South, college football is king. Most of the South is without a pro sports team and has been for YEARS. Tennessee has only recently gotten an NFL franchise. Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, etc., these states will more than likely never see a pro sports franchise. So college football is all they have ever known.

Kind of like how dolphins fans should look at Nick Saban.
It sure looks differant when it isn't you.

Well, I don't recall anyone trying to block Saban's car in or rioting after he left. Sure, it's insulting and I'd get if they held a grudge I wouldn't have an issue with that....But renaming municipal works? Burning matresses?

Personally...if he wanted to leave, I didn't want him to coach Miami. Kind of like after Wes Welker's comments saying he would always look across the field at the Patriots and wanted to be on their team.

But ,three years later...there are alot of Saban threads still going on around here.
