He was just released by the Colts. I think he is a great physical presence, and a great match for Jones. Thoughts?

He is a hard hitter bit can not cover worth a crap....Id kick the tires on him but I think a pass for me

As depth yes... The Delmas injury last year showed why we need contingency plans in the secondary. Sign as many cheap good safeties as possible because I do not want to see Jimmy Wilson play safety again.

While we are at it we should also be looking to sign good cheap talent at CB, LB, and OL regardless if we plan for them to start or not.

If I never see Daniel Thomas, Phillip Wheeler, and Dannell Ellerbe on the field again it would still be too soon.

jones plays strong landry can't play free...was a disaster there in washington

Every time I watched the colts play this year he was always way out of position in coverage. He can tackle for sure

I wouldn't mind him for depth. I haven't heard about his health since he left Washington, but I know he was always injured while he was in DC.

nah we can get better value for money

plus he takes more pills than the wwe

No thanks to Landry.

However the Fins still need to address the S issue.

As big as a problem ILB was for the Fins, once Delmas went down at FS the wheels really fell of the defense.

When Jones was out and the starting safeties were Delmas and Wilson opposing offenses averaged 24.5 points per game.

When Jones and Delmas were the starting safeties opposing offenses only averaged 19.6 points per game.

When Jones and Wilson were starting safeties opposing offenses averaged a whopping 38.7 points per game.

As much as I think it's a good idea to bring Delmas back the Fins need to bring back in a better backup, because with Delmas' injury history, Wilson just doesn't cut it at St. Who that is, I have no idea as I haven't dug into S prospects or FA's yet. Do they address it in the draft or do they pick up a 2nd or 3rd tier FA S who excels at special teams to help? I really wish Michael Thomas wouldn't have gotten hurt last year so the FO would know what they have in him.

Oh well, just another hole of Ireland's that Hickey has to fill.

not me... id rather make sure we get Delmas back cheaply for our secondary first, and look elsewhere for depth behind Jones... someone who has range to cover.
