Steelers LB Larry Foote, quoted in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on losing close friend and teammate Joey Porter to the Dolphins: “As a player and teammate, you never want to lose that type of guy. When you get a guy like Joey Porter, you're not just paying for his services on the field, but his impact on the team and his influence. He never led us in the wrong direction. When you have a leader and a guy who has influence on a team, it can be negative or positive, but he was positive. He kept everyone together. He was a friend to everyone — young and old, from practice squad players to superstars. He kept us all humble. I just say there's only one Joey Porter; no one can do what he does. That's what we're going to miss, we're going to miss that a lot.”

I will only take the word from guys who've played with JP like Foote, Bettis, etc.

Not idiots like LeBatard and Prisco and all the guys who don't really know what it's like to even put on a pair of cleats.

Now if a guy who's played with JP thinks he's overrated or is declining, I'll listen to him to. It isn't one sided, but so far JP has gotten nothing but accolades from his former boys
 
Kinda reminds me of Seau. Just wish we would have had Seau when he was 29 like we have Porter now.
