You bet your *** he would. Baltimore told him 8 carries maximum, he might not even get 4 carries, and he accepted it. If Ricky was here still he would have filled in the Cobbs role nicely on trick plays. Just a mistake to let him walk but sign Larry Johnson... I think I rather have Tiki Barber.

Definetly would not be saying this. Cant see Johnson doing much, not matter where he ended up.

Oh ya just to add, if we told Ricky he would get 0 to 4 carries a game MAYBE, he would have signed instantly, which is basically what the third running back would be doing anyways, and having Ricky as a third running back is a luxury. Just stupid to not sign him and I think it has a lot to do with the comments Ricky made about Sparano in the offseason.

It has everything to do with Ricky saying Sparano is nitpicky. Tony probably got his feelings hurt and didn't want any distraction around him or the team.

It's a smart move. He'll be used short yardage and if he picks up first downs or punches it in from the 1 it's a successful signing. If it doesn't work out there is no guaranteed money and no loss of a draft pick.

If he can succeed in short yardage situations, then I don't see what the big deal is. Perhaps he makes Polite expendable and preserves a roster spot for Grigsby or Moore. The Patriots sign Haynesworth and they are geniuses. The Dolphins sign a 3rd/4th running back for nothing and they are morons.
