For those (like me) that (before the combine) considered/hoped that the 'Fins would draft Cedric Benson... read this:

:goof:

I think we lucked out with who we have (Brown).

But, most of all, I think we lucked out with who we DON'T have.

I still remember Benson crying when he got drafted by the Bears. I knew right then and there that we'd drafted right.

 yeah cedric totally had a look on his face of "omg...im a chicago bear..."

Yeah, you know I was actually kinda pissed off at the guy (Benson).

He came off like "Oh my God, I can't believe I slipped to the 4th overall pick!" "I'm gonna show ever team that passed up on me just what they missed out on."

Yeah, well... we're watching... and we're glaaaaaad! :rofl3:

Seriously, how pathetic was his reaction? Or am I being too hard on a guy who could already have signed a contract with a bonus that pays him more $$$ than I'll probably make IN MY LIFE?!?! :fire:

Yikes... I didn't actually realize that his holdout was that bad. What are the odds that he goes through the whole season unsigned and ends up back in the draft a la Steve Young? (Or does it work that way?)

Kind of funny - he seemed upset that he didn't get drafted by Miami, Braylon Edwards was upsed that we didn't draft him and I'm SURE that Rodgers was disappointed we didn't take him. We're just too popular for our own good.

Yeah we DEFINITELY lucked out here. I mean Benson first thing he did when he was drafted is start cryin because things were sooooooooooooooo tough on him being compared to Ricky Williams. Get over it dude, you were still drafted #4 overall.

And this argument that his agent is making about his contract is COMPLETE bull. Last year Phil Rivers was taken #4 overall but paid like a #2 overall pick because of the strange circumstances surrounding his trade (the #1 overall team was the one that wanted him). So now what, every #4 pick from here on out gets paid like a #2 pick because of that one contract and that one trade? ****ing grow up man, take your damn slotting and get into camp the ****ing ***** that he is.

Whoops. I got a little foul there. But, you know, he is rather wimpy.

Yeah, well, it was like that with me and the chicks throughout high school and then into college, ya know!  ;)

Actually... not really.

One HS girlfriend (who wouldn't give it up).
One college girlfriend (who gave it up... to everybody).

Sheesh.

agreed.

He needs to get control of his agent and tell him to drop the whole issue of getting paid like last year's #4 pick got paid.

The true irony of the whole thing is that his reaction  to being compared (negatively) to Ricky proved exactly that those comparisons were legit.
