Miller ran 18 times for 89 yards, and DT added 9 for 47, with Pouncey and Cog having good games. They were the only ones on O. RT was 22 for 39 for 192, 2 Td's and 2 picks.

On D, Grimes, Patterson, Clemons, and Wilson all played well in the secondary. Wake, Starks, and Ellerbe played pretty well, and Starks had 2 sacks. We only had 3 sacks, 1 hit, and 7 hurries (Wake can do that by himself). Brady was 13 for 21 for 116 with a pick but, the Pats ran 37 times for 152 and 2 TD's.

Are we expecting the same type of game?

Pats will test our run d, and use it to set up the pass. They will also target Carroll as Brady owns him. He'll need to step up for us to win. He has been playing better. On d, they will try to force us to pass. We will need to be balanced on offense, and stay unpredictable. Simple recipe to win is to get pressure on Brady. Easier said than done.

I just hope we run the ball, and keep running it... I have no idea what was on Shermans mind when we literally stopped running the ball in the 2nd half... No sacks in the 1st half, 7 in the 2nd iirc... I mean wtf was he thinking???

same type of game, the Patriots run defense is horrible. we can run all day, this time run more in the 2nd half and we win. Tannehill is moving better in the pocket. the Patriots are allowing the 2nd most yards to TEs over the past 6 weeks I believe. Charles Clay and lamar miller will go off

Last game Carroll gave up 1 pass for 14 yards, as he only played 5 cover snaps. Last year, Carroll did not play in the final game vs NE, and gave up 2 for 2 and 21 yards in the earlier game on 27 covers. Don't see that as being owned by Brady.

Ha it actually looks the other way around...

I feel very good about Carroll starting from here on out. I mean next year too if its Grimes and Carroll starting. Nolan Carroll is extremely talented, he finally put it together

^^^This! Unfortunately, this coaching staff STILL hasn't learned to feel the game. Some games, you have to understand it's important to run the ball more than you pass it. There are many reason for this. Most critically, IMO for this game is to: 1) Keep the Patriots offense off the feild and 2) Control the clock and 3) Minimize CRUCIAL T/O in this pivotal type of game. We still haven't learned to be variable on Offense.

Every time I watch (and I watch every game), it seems like Carroll was getting beat for a td against ne. How did he do the other ne games? Not sure how they keep stats anyways for that kind of stuff. What about zone?

He has stepped up lately for sure.

The 14 yarder he gave up was for a TD, one of two he has given up all year.

Nolan had a horrible game against Buffalo last year where he gave up lots of penalties, but the reality is that his form has improved this year and he is a valuable contributor. He is also one of the smartest and highest character guys on the team. Re-sign him Jeff Ireland - he was a very good 5th round draft pick.

Agree that Carroll is a keeper but, not sold on him as a quality starter. I'm hoping that Taylor or, maybe Davis step it up for next year. I do not want to keep Patterson in spite f his few good games.

Jones has come back somewhat in the last few games to being around average. The first 10 games were horrible. I don't know the last time I've seen such a drop off from one year to the next, although Clabo was close.
