Remember this epic thread?.......................

As it turns out I was of course correct all along and MJD was finally the guy smart enough to help me prove my point. Whats great is he did it to secure a victory over the JETS!!!!!!!!!

Of course this couldve been Jack Del Rio's idea who IMHO has been a genius when it comes to managing these type of games late. Remember how Garrard slid and they beat the Steelers in the playoffs that year?

Heres what happened today...............

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/15/jones-drew-pulls-a-westbrook/

With the Jags trailing by one and the Jets out of time outs, Jones-Drew got the ball at the New York 10 and went down on his own at the one. The Jags then played if safe with first and goal, taking three knees before kicking the game-winning field goal.

If Jones-Drew had scored and if the Jags had failed to convert on the two-point try, the Jets still could have won the game by driving for a touchdown with 1:48 to play.

So kudos for Jones-Drew for doing the unselfish thing.

Thats right folks. As I said all along last season, we beat the Texans if Ronnie simply gets on the ground once he gains the appropriate yardage for the first down at the 2 yard line. The phins wouldve been able to take 3 knees and leave the Texans with no more than 12 seconds and kick the would be game winning FG.

Instead, Ronnie stat-whores it up and gets into the endzone. Leaving of course almost 2 full minutes for a Texans offense we couldnt stop all day long to go down and score the game winnning TD. Yep.

Great job today MJD and Del-Rio. You are certainly playing the game on a much more intelligent level than that of Tony Morono and Ronnie are.

This is just further evidence of Morono's very weak game management skills that have come into question big time this season. He shouldve informed everyone on that offense during the TO right before that Ronnie TD that once you gain the yardage for the first down, GET ON THE GROUND.

You dont even have to take a knee. Just GET DOWN. Then we take the knees and kick the game winning FG. Ballgame. Phins win.

Its that simple. The GOAL shouldve been made CLEAR. The mission shouldve been GET A FIRST DOWN, not a TD.

But, oh well. Keep listening to Morono. I dont know wtf Im talking about.

Edit: Notice the similar situations. The phins were trailing the Texans by one point. I remember a lot of peoples argument was you dont play like that when trailing and Westbrooks move was with a one point lead.....BS. A chip shot FG like that is made 99% of the time. Much greater chance of success than our D stopping the Texans last year who passed all over us all day long. All Ronnie had to do was get down. They only had one timeout left and we couldve taken that clock down to around 12 seconds before kicking the FG.

Are you really pulling an "I told you so" on a game that happened last year?! Who cares. That games over, that seasons over, get on with your life. Hindsight is 20/20. You take a touchdown when you can ****ing get it.

Do you feel better now?

 Actually yea. It was refreshing to see a team pull that move in an almost identical situation. It debunks all of the nonsense arguments against it last season. Hell, read that thread from last year. It was a real spirited debate.

I just think it's a little ummmm.... STUPID to claim Ronnie Brown a stat-padding whore for wanting to get 6 points.

Another stupid thread.

Stupid? Tell that to the Jags organization and Jack Del Rio. It was a brilliant move today and it was a brilliant idea when I first suggested it last year.

It won them a game today. Wins arent easy to come by in the league. And when you can manipulate little things like that to come up with huge wins, it can be the difference in a big deal, such as playoffs or no playoffs.

Had I been managing games for us last season, we win that Texans game. And this season, we probably sit at least 6-3, maybe 7-2 as opposed to 4-5.

He should be wanting to WIN. He should be thinking of this ****. And if he isnt, someone within the organization should and making sure the coaches and players understand how to manage games to the smartest advantage for the team.

Like I said HINDSIGHT IS 20/20! Defense should be able to stop them. Period. And you're not the first one to think of this, someone did it last year (or the year before) but it escapes me at the moment.

Great now can we please beat the f*%king Texans this year finally?! It could mean playoffs this time around.
